Your attitude Adam, is probably why i enjoy your videos so much. Im probably 20 years older than you but live by arguably, the same ethos. Money is hard earnt but its there to enjoy when you have it. I know people who have worked and saved hard to purchase items possibly beyond their means and now are hamstrung servicing mortgages and unable to do anything else. To me, i dont see the point. Each to their own, but i will die happy with the life i've lived not the one i hope to have. On another note, ive found liking YT videos is what helps you, not just watching. So am liking each new one you post, and slowly going back to do the same to the ones in the archive. Carry on !

There's a guy just north of where I live who's Imports these and sells them. Near Mount Airy North Carolina which is also known as mayberry. In fact we were just up there this weekend. If anybody's looking for one of these the company name has the word Mayberry in it

Blue smoke: Do a blow by test and see what is worn out. Sorry to hear your tiny truck was in bad shape. Mine has been a great rig. I bought it to carry a snow plow, far better than an ATV / UTV due to being really heated, and it turned into my daily driver. Definitely more fun to drive than my D3500 mega cab. And far less expensive to run. I have a pack-tipper, which is a scissors lift dump truck. The younger guys who work for me refer to it as the “Inspector Gadget” truck. The best advantage of the pick-tipper is the ability to raise the bed and have full access to the engine.

Maybe you missed my last comment on the truck video throw something Honda related in it keeps authenticity of Honda but the reliability of something more mondern. With some power. K20a2 k24 B18 d16 something similar a lot of these builds out there and you wonder why they ditched the engine and will still give you the use of the mini truck good luck with whatever you choose ! 🤙🏻🤙🏻

New subscriber. Same thing happened to my Gilera DNA 50 that was derestricted it did 65 mph on a 50cc but then the engine seized up and it then only did 5mph and had to skateboard style push it up with my legs up hills. I left at midnight wearing a high vis and got it from Oxford to Bristol on B roads at 5mph by 10am the morning in order to get my money back from the bike shop. Just within my 3 month warranty. Phew.

I was a student back then and it was my first bike. I am not kidding. I had tried to repair it but the engine was totally seized. The bike shop said it was up to me to get it back. So as I'm from a military family I took it as a Lara Croft style mission to get it from Oxford to Bristol in a midnight SAS style manoeuvre. Using my legs like a skateboard to get it up those hills I remember it now. This was back in 2001. I wore the high Vis so I didn't die.

If it's fun then go for it! Here I am 50 years old and I just spent the day out on my $2000 electric skateboard. I had a smile on my face the entire time. Life goes by WAY too quick. Have as much fun as you can while we're here. 👍🏻

I have a 2020 Ford f150 Xl with 4x4 drive. I have driven in rural and urban places and some hills. Maybe somehing closer to a mountain. When i first bought the truck, the odometer was at 75 miles. 3 and a half years later, its sitting at 80,000 miles. I would LOVE to see this truck try to go through what my truck went through. Heck, i would love to see a dish network contractor use a kei truck in the same areas i went to.

Mid engine Honda k-swap, will probably cost more than 3 grand but you love the truck and a ton of people have done it! Used engine are $1500 + labor so now your at your $3000 with a used engine. $3,000 is responsible especially knowing it was done right.

You should look into Hatfield and Mccoy trails in the Appalachian mountains. I livebright in the heart of them and I think you would really enjoy it. People here are nice and welcoming.

Hey Adam have Questions You wouldn't have any Recommendations on good camera for making video's. Something that doesn't overheat has good battery life goes long time before needing a charge and allows to hookup external microphone. That be perfect for setting on tripods walking around perfect for indoor and outdoor filming that under $1,000 USD . Reason ask since you are a professional photographer maybe you mite have good recommendations. Definitely enjoy you and Michael channel I think both of you make a good pair.

Those little trucks aren't meant to be driven in those conditions considered they were build for agricultural purposes in Japan and areas where weather remains fairly nice year round and not driven in high heat areas. Which is why you burned so much oil. The engine worked harder to do what it was not intended to do.

Once done, if looked after, you should have years of trouble-free pleasure. Or.... how about replacing it with an alternative slightly bigger engine without going mad. Just think what a little more power would give and how many videos you could make logging your progress. I am collecting a 98 Acty this week to use as a large motorised wheelbarrow on my land plus some fun. It looks in good condition and hope I have better luck with the engine.

Have you thought about converting it to electric? It would probobly cost around triple what you are going to spend on the engine rebuild but I imagine you would end up with something quite speedy

3 grand for a engine rebuild!! On a 3 cylinder..?? Waaay to much.. make sure you get new pistons, rings , water pump.. ask for old equipment back to make job was done.. these engines only last at best 50,000 miles.. just sayingg

Not really, parts are hella expensive and I’ve got a great mechanic. My original engine had done around that so I guess it was due!

“brand new” Kei Truck???? over 25 years old Japanese 2nd hand right? We Japanese dump cars with in every 10 years due to the Gov regi cost in Japan set too high for old cars…. And small motor like Kei class engine wear out much quicker than regular JDMs due to the constant high rev usages…. So all exported Kei to US etc are basically old done cars revived from car cemeteries in Japan.

@@AdamSwords yea this one came w a new water pump new belt , stickers on the side of the door jamb also had up to date on oil changes and it's a 92 also w 85,000 km..but runs really good I got lucky on that part

Please just do yourself a favor and get a nice motorcycle engine . You don't have to jump right to Hayabusa and make that thing rip you can get a solid motor that would be better to maintain

@@AdamSwords that's a very fair point. you were already rebuilding the motor I figured a quick motor swap would be easy plug and play. I know in reality it is a good amount of work but You know that would be miles and kilometers worth of fun

lol “a quick motor swap”, you sound like my imagination. You know how many epic ideas I’ve got for builds that I’d love to do but in reality would be a NIGHTMARE. That’s why I’m sticking with 38hp and hoping for the best!

Mate, just run away from that Dan and find anreal mechanic. Someone who wouldn't have let this happen and wouldn't charge you a fortune after it did

Dan probably knew the rings were going. As indicated by blue smoke at steady state,and oil consumption. But, the only fix is a total rebuild. And depending on what he does with the truck, it could have lasted years with bad rings.
