In this video, I buy 30 Raspberry Pis to create a scalper bot to help secure PS5's and GPU's. I used a combination of web scraping and backend coding to achieve a bot that can detect if an item is in stock and auto-buy it as well. I used these Raspberry Pis to create 30 proxies. A proxy farm so to say. I needed a ton of rotating proxies so instead of paying for a service, why not make them myself? Watch to the end to see how I created everything and my thought processes.

Great story! I was waiting for the great ending of you finally getting your GPU. How many hours would you approximate it took you to write the code? And how much would the rotating IP service from Lambda would've cost?

I rewrote the entire thing later on, but I lost that code sadly. I would probably say I spent around 100 hours minimum on this. Lambda doesn't have a rotating IP service, I wanted to set up a "hacky" script go through lambda API because every time you call a lambda function, it's usually through a different AWS server which means a different IP. I don't remember the cost but it was pretty high lol.

I like this. I subbed. Great work, you seem to know what you’re doing. I love pi projects, and would love to set up an XMPP server of my own (preferably ejabberd, amd not using a server from a list of servers to create an account, ..even though you can actually create an account with a tor version of any number of XMPP servers, I want to be my own server) on a pi, but have it running over tor. (That way no need for a ddns.) I’ve set up my own irc server using hexchat over tor running on a pi, that was awesome, and friends loved it, but XMPP (using pidgin, or astra chat, or any of many clients) to chat over tor is something I can’t find any tutorials on.

I wonder if you get all the graduate students/post-docs/professors to give their IPs and supply you a list of stable servers you can route from. Like an underground academia social network,

Wouldn’t it have been cheaper to just purchase a good vpn service and write script to rotate their IP addresses? I hope you got a ps in the end, I thought this would have a triumphant, happy ending but then remembered it’s a real-life story.

Yeah maybe but i needed a ton of requests so even with a vpn service it would have been expensive
