Welcome to the 4Runner gang. Make sure that V6 3.0 is in tip top shape as time goes by. The 3VZE has a reputation of head gasket failures and Toyota did a recall on these motors I drive a 2WD 95 4Runner with the same motor with 143k miles (as of the time I’m making this comment)

Hello there. Been looking to buy one here in germany. Is there anything in particular to look for ?
@Carlosity223 Жыл бұрын
Just bought a ‘95 4Runner 182k miles ONE owner. I couldn’t believe it. It’d been passed down from the grandfather to the father and it was being driven by the grandson. $3200 but cracked headers after 3 weeks driving. Losing ton of fuel and replacing knock sensor. Now rebuilt the exhaust system. And doing EGR delete. Should be new here shortly. Love my truck.

If you put it 1st then reverse it won't grind because it lines up the synchro's in the transmission. Same goes for most manual transmission cars.

Yup, Toyotas and even Honda's of the 90's prefer to go into 5th gear right above Reverse and then straight down into R. Or into first gear as you say which I've never tried myself.

I like the 2nd gen. I was tempted to buy an almost mint "looking" dark green one with the stock 4 spoke wheels painted dark green too and had toyo MTs. 4wd too. For under 5000 and guy had everything upkept well. Problem is, the 3.0L has a terrible rep and nobody wants to be apart of it haha. The 2nd gen is underrated really, but just for that one reason mainly. The 3.4 has valve cover leaks and 3rd gen has LBJ problems at least usually when lifting

The "clutchless start" can be used in gear also. If you're on a hill, leave it in 1st, ebrake off, starter will crawl it forward and start running.

Nice ! My dad have this same one since I was little kid and still running.. I love a nice old school truck. Always get my attention at a grocery parking or where ever. Lol I’m looking to do some work on it to keep it maintained. I’m looking for some part like rear bumper and rear windows wiper.

I have had my '95 ever since my '93 was destroyed in a roll over T-bone... What a truck! I need a new clutch, but runs great! I would like to see what you do to yours, might revitalize my thinking towards mine! I just got a '03 Tundra, so been working on that! MAKE SOME VIDS, PLEASE!!

Dude you have the tailgate. You can haul anything with the seats down. Like 20ft baseboard, or a Bath vanity on the tailgate and 10 boxes of porcelain tile

Adjust your throttle cable to take away the slack in the pedal. I had the same problem on my 93 with a 5 speed and it made a huge difference

Nice…picked one up couple months ago also for a good price, has been good to me, not very good on gas or with power, but reliable. I’m actually in the process to 1uz swapping mine 😬😬

I got a 95 a couple years back and Ive been super happy. I do have a question, is it normal for the window switches not to work when the door is open? Ive never had anything work like that. I agree with you, everyone says the 3.0 or 3.slow as they call it isn't that bad. It not suppost to be a muscle truck,it gets around just fine in my opinion although I wouldn't be against the 3.4 swap.

E36 was my first car in 2015. I'm 26 now, and the 4runner is far more ideal and better today and the market today.

I bought a 94 about 6 months ago and it had 260k. This is my FIRST car lol. Now im at 365k and im pretty sure my water pump is going out and im pretty sureit has a damn burnt exhaustvalve. Ive already done the clutch. Im debating doing a 3.4 swap instead of rebuilding it. It still runs and drives fine though, interior is great too. Everything else is perfect tho im just nervous about the engine. 4wd, frame and everything is fine. I could also just sell it and walk away with at least $500 profit but im gonna try to keep it as long as possible because i freaking love this car. I get lots of compliments on it lol

Sounds like a common theme with these trucks. Really wish I had the 22re but the V6 is what was available. I'll be making an update on the truck soon as it's already given me some problems. Good luck with yours, I'd definitely go for the 3.4!

I definitely would not pick one up with the auto the 5 speed is perfect and if you have it in 4low you can dump the clutch at idle and not stall
@zacharyswagner1097 ай бұрын
gas pedal feels weird like there's nothing there because the rubber bushing on the throttle cable is broken. So you should spend the $120 and get an oem on and it'll feel like a normal car again.

I have a similar Toyota 4Runner but mine is a 92 auto 4x4 with h only 80,000 miles on the original engine. I wanted a 5speed version but here in Hawaii Toyota’s are very expensive and hard to come by with a decent price everyone is trying to got a lot of money for there Toyota’s

Nice find bud! They don’t make these vehicles like they used to and you don’t see many of them on the road! I bought a 1990 3.0L V6 4x4 from the junk layer and totally restored inside and out, however the engine was in great condition and doesn’t burn any oil! It was an abandoned truck while I was looking for parts for my 1994 4Runner. Carpet will probably be between anywhere from $200-$400.
