Such a powerful device. I still have my OG Regular 3DS from 2014 and just modded it last year. Putting a lots of games and emulators like NES/SNES/GB/GBC.

The 3DS is widely compatible, a lot of the games people like from Nintendo already had VC support. If you use this program on a PC gbatemp.net/threads/release-ultimate-gba-vc-injector-for-3ds.438057/ You’ll be able to make home screen representations of your GBA games using the inbuilt VC, which means mGBA and twilight menu are kinda useless for GBA emulation. (They’re not great to start tbh, plenty of emulation core issues)

If you install cfw you can just turn the entire console into a region free console that plays anything under the sun. You would probably be able to just turn it into a North American console too if you dont want it region free. Buying a japanese ds is an easy way to get around the huge prices of North American consoles.

I appreciate the advice, as a collector and content creator, it means a lot. However I don’t feel like messing with system nand, I’ve heard it’s more trouble than it’s worth. I also feel modding it would be pointless. Taking into account that I’ve modded my N3DSXL, and I expressly bought this one to fill a gap in my collection

@@ZebraScoutthe console usually just automatically reads the game based on the region language of the device, its not like that for all games but mainly the pokemon titles. Honestly you can use any region unlock to mod that ds, it doesnt look to have any mods at all.

Yeah the system isn’t modded, I intend on keeping it as it was from factory. I’m unsure if I stated that in the video or not, as I don’t watch my videos after I upload them. I’m not too aware of mods other than Luma since it’s the easiest for me.

@@ZebraScout I have the exact same model except its the black one, mines a jpn system too but I completley changed the firmware to a US one and it works flawlessly

I got a new 3ds xl w/ ultra sun for 130$ + 20$ shipping just last week. And they didnt wipe their 3ds and i could see that they only used it for 1 month. It was in almost brand new condition

Got mine from Japan about the same time you did. I was able to to snag a pretty decent used New 3DS XL for $150

I bought it from eBay! Specifically this seller www.ebay.com/str/japanesesushi?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=i03slprrsha&sssrc=3418065&ssuid=21olrjt3rb-&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY His prices are lower when compared to competitors and he uses fedex, which is rare on the handheld side of eBay
