I bought a refurbished Yamaha golf cart from The Villages Golf Cars dealership in the Villages Florida. This video is an overview of my thoughts on buying a refurbished golf cart, how much it cost, show you what I got for the money, and some riding around in The Villages to give you an idea how it looks on the road. I gotta say I love your cart. My son is in the infancy of his Naval career. He was enlisted and completed his Nuke education, and then got excepted into the Naval Academy, he is now entering into his 2nd class year, and wants to continue on with his Nuke education and get his dolphin….the thought of it gives me claustrophobia, but I am so proud of him and all of our sailors! Suns out, guns out. What’s up Chief? Great video. I was in the Navy ‘91-‘93 and was a BM3. Chiefs are the backbone of the Navy. I don’t live in The Villages yet. Currently living in Connecticut until I retire in 7 years. Keep the beer cold! Cheers!

Nice golf cart!!! We too purchased a 2021 refurbished 4 seat Quiet Tech from Villages Discount Golf Cars sold to us by our friend Dave who back in R.I. sold cars with my husband at one time at the same dealership. We too have a great warranty, and last week they sent a tech right over when we called to check if we were leaking oil and thankfully we were not. Also Chief, I want to thank you for your service. My late Dad retired from the Navy with the rank of BMC after 25 years of service which spanned through WWII, and the Korean and Vietnam Wars and he too was called by many Chief or Boats by his Navy buddies. His last duty before he retired was skipper of the Admiral's barge at the Newport, R.I. Naval War College. I can remember back and I was pretty young at the time when the phone would ring on many early Sunday mornings and the call was for my Dad. After the call ended my Dad would turn to my Mom and say "got to leave now the admiral wants to go fishing." It was an interesting childhood growing up as a Navy brat. 🇺🇲

That is so awesome about your father, sounds like an awesome guy. I always loved our Boatswainsmates on the ship, they owned the boat for sure! And a fellow Chief, doesn't get any better than that, a true hero serving from WWII thru Nam, thats wild, what an incredible time to serve! Thanks so much for sharing that!

@@TheVillagesChief Chief, thank you for your kind response regarding my late Dad. Not only was he a great Navy man he was a great Dad. He very much wanted me to also join the Navy following graduating college and getting my R.N. but my career destiny took a different path. But, my Dad was quite happy and proud when I made the decision midway through my nursing career to accept a nursing position with the VA which gave me the opportunity to serve those who have served which I did for the last 21 years of my career and retired in September of 2021.

That's a sweet ride Chief but you're made of tougher stuff than I as I couldn't drive a black vehicle in that hot Florida sun - I think I'd melt! Thank for your sharing your back seat folds down. I don't live in the TV yet (hubby refuses to consider it) but I'd be concerned going shopping and having no place to store purchases. With a fold down seat, it seems an easy way to add a locked storage box to hold things.

A friend of mine talked me into moving to a South Carolina 55 community when I was wanted to live in the Villages there you buy a electric golf cart because it’s a small community and no town squares no gas stations in inside of the community so that’s why I bought that one but moving to The Villages it’s much better with the gas carts. Electric carts get anywhere from 50-80 miles on a charge where the gas carts can get 250 to a tank full and in The Villages is what you need for the size of it.

We bought a reconditioned one too, 2017 with lots of bells & whistles. We are very happy with ours but it is a 2 seater from The Villages Golf Cart in Brownwood! In the future, we might buy an electric, 4 seater to add to our collection since we have two daughters & son in law’s plus 5 grands, who love driving a golf cart😉

We bought private sale, super low hrs. Also a 2015, Metalic Black. Ours had the upgrade seat with seat belts. Fuel injected. I see you have a Corpus Christi home. We have one too.

Very nice cart! We bought reconditioned too. We tricked ours out a lot though, so we paid more. Ours has a 3 year warranty, and is a 2018 Quietech EFI. We loved that it was only two months to get it, not the 6 months the brand new ones are taking. I’m wondering why yours doesn’t have the back-up beeping sound? I hate it and want hubs to disable it, but KZfaq videos haven’t been very helpful. Enjoy your cart!

Hi Deborah, thanks for watching. I disconnected the beeper, on my cart it was pretty simple to disconnect. Under the very front of the cart, there is a wire that plugs into the beeper, I just disconnected it, wrapped it in plastic and electric tape to keep the wire from corroding. Maybe I’ll make a video. But not sure if yours would be in the same place.

@Deborah Lynn not near the engine area, it's way up at the front of the cart, just above and forward of the front axel. You should see it from under the front of the golf cart.

Haha actually everyone has been great, I got a lot of people who love talking to me about my Harley especially from those that use to ride or still do. So far all positive. Bring the amp I’ll jam with ya, I play the drums, lots of musicians here. Several neighborhoods have block parties with garage bands, playing in driveways, lawn chairs, it’s a fun place.

You mentioned "Bumper to bumper" Warranty- it's 6 years old so I'm surprised. it's warranted. How many months/years are you covered? Thanks!

Hi Bill and Jeanie, it came with a one year warranty. Most of the parts have been replaced or added, front seats, rear seats, tires, roof, lights, paint, GPS/speedometer, battery, engine rework/tuneup, etc, all new. It looks and drives like brand new for a few thousand less.

So I grew up with women in my family not ever having a drivers license. Greek. IOld school. I know all the rules, but, have never driven a vehicle anywhere at anytime on the road. Do you have to have a license to drive a golf cart.? Maybe if you are on a street not in your neighborhood? Children zip through our neighborhood on golf carts, golf cars, all the time. I am thinking, where the heck are your parents? One more question. My mama says all the time, " Never live in an over 55 community because you can't have your children or grandbabies stay". So, how does that work? Thank you.

Im not 100% sure but I don’t think you need a license, but you must be at least 14. Also I think your grandkids can stay, or any guest, for 30 days at a time, but I believe you have to get them a pass.

I am confused. Why would you buy a NON quitech without EFI and pay $13000? How many years old is that? The EFI quitech is so much better (I have both). Nice cart, but I think you overpaid which is what you get with The Villages golf cart stores. Love the steering wheel and the 4 seat config. Good video too. 👍

It seems like nobody has cargo space to haul groceries and stuff. How do you all keep your things from flying out of the cart? I only have experience with Razors, not golf carts. BTW, do they allow Razors in The Villages or does it have to be a golf car(t)? In the town I live in people drive their Razors to the store. For that matter, we ride our horses to the store too. :D

Funny you asked that, I just posted a short about the gym I use. It's Genesis Health Club in Spanish Springs. It's clean, nice folks, and I never have any problems getting on the machines. They also have a variety of activities, fitness programs, message, etc. It's a little pricey in my opinion (about $85 a month) and I wish they had longer hours but I do like the location, right on the square, so after a workout you can catch a live band and relax.

Now I use a GoPro and an Insta360 camera on a long stick, gives an affect of a drone chasing me. Sometimes I’ll just pullover and reposition the cameras. But no, I’m the only crew I have!
