Nah, not even north korea could love this. Just running in empty corridors for hours would exhaust everyone patience. You can't even choose your seeds, it ruins the entire point of a farming, management game and replaces it with pure luck

Agreed I don't know why they didn't do portraits or 3d models since the camera in the game doesn't angle or zoom in a way for you to see the character that well.

Yeah, I would prefer something like this too. The models on Pioneers of Olive Town look very nice, and I would appreciate being able to see them better with a zoom-in when they talk.

Well, the only reason they are still calling these games "Harvest Moon" because they can attract people who don't know about the Natsume and Marvelous split. It's sad, because they are ruining the name but it's also easy money for them.

I honestly think they could make a really great harvest moon game if they harkened back to a wonderful life. That game has such a great ambiance that they just like dropped in every game since. Like it's just a joke to put out games like this when stardew valley exists. Like put some time and effort into your game.

Actually I think the reason Natsume is making any money is the Harvest moon title without people wouldn't even look their way with other games like SOS and stardew valley; also rune factory back in the running, and roots of pacha looks promising on kickstarter.

It is actually worth buying. I for one was surprised with the mechanics, it was simple but still enjoyable. I don’t think there is something wrong with liking a game even when it’s not Story of Seasons.

I am not being rude, but everyone has their own taste and freedom what to like and what not to like. Other people playing games that are worst when it comes to graphics compared to this, or playing a very basic game, but still, they found something in that game that they enjoyed. I guess we are becoming rude just because of the history of the two.

that character is based on a char named Sylvain from Fire Emblem Three Houses. that's why he stands out, they take characters from animes or video games, change their design a bit, and give them a different name. So basically they "reference" these characters but in reality they are copying characters that already exist cause they are lazy to come up with new ones.

Shops don’t sell seeds only certain trees. I thought it was strange but I like hunting the seeds down and not having to pay a bunch for them.

I just found where they sell some seeds at the shops horrible selection 🙄 I guess that’s somehow a funny quirks of the game. How they don’t know what seeds are but they do at the same time.

DX at least in story of seasons time goes by a lot slower and easier to do things around the farm but here? you are practically pressured to do everything before it gets dark which it does WAAY too fast. It’s really sad that they can get a great designer and composer but wastes them on a really poorly designed game. This is why game design is way more important than graphics.

I think the reason people are relying so much on videos like these is because they don't want to feel they've wasted their money by buying it and then not liking it enough to keep playing. But it's good that you're willing to give it enough of a chance to try it yourself. I bought Light of Hope when it came out and almost immediately wanted to return it, so I decided to watch gameplay first this time.

@@kamikazebee13 oh I completely understand that's why I love these videos especially Josh's because he gives games a chance and tries to find their positives. I gave them a chance because I happen to have the funds but many can't shell out $60 on every game and have to choose carefully which is why these videos are awesome... i really tried to judge it as its own experience because im always surprised by what I end up liking but I feel like It's a scam. I mean I was appalled they were allowed to sell this for $60 in a market with games like POOT and FOMT and ofcourse Stardew (which isn't a full priced game but only by choice because it's definitely is & im not even a big player). The hardest part is not being able to return this game. I couldn't in good conscience try to sell some poor soul this game either and gamestop would probably give me $3. Poot has some slight issues but you can tell they put love into it and are updating the game to fix those issues. This game has no soul, no heart, no passion. I'm not a longtime player so I didn't go into this with biased feeling towards them and they still pissed me off to no end.

Completely agree. From my understanding of the situation marvelous is in fact the ones who violated professional courtesy and translation contracts. And now everyone shits on natsume. Its clear 99% of people have no idea what actually happened and are just hopping on a vitriolic bandwagon.

They’re ripping people off intentionally. They know almost all people only buy their games for the fact that they think they’re getting a completely different product. I have no sympathy.

You know I think they would be doing a lot better if they had simply chosen a new name. The general opinion around them is negative no matter what they do because of fan loyalty to SoS(now) they feel they need to shit on them. Where as if they had a different name it would get a fair shake. Multiple farming sims can exist in the market at the same time it doesn't have to be one or the other but for natsume its always a fight against marvelous. Every move they make is compared to marvelous. Marvelous has mastered their trade and natsume is not on the same level obviously but I hope they can filter hate from constructive criticism and really put their heart in the next game. I ordered it because I don't want the internet to decide if something sucks for me. They need to take their time and listen to feedback. They stepped into shoes they were not ready to fill. Why they won't just let the name die and start a new farming franchise under a new name is beyond me. It may have been lucrative to keep it at first but now it is a coffin.

Anyway based on what i've learned, i think it is not sensible to make natsume a complete villain here that makes marvelous a flawless company, i have a gratitude towards natsume, thanks to them this franchise has been introduced to us, they've been around before xseed was born

That being said, it's clear that they care about the quality of their games, otherwise they wouldn't have made so many improvements to this. It's obvious they still have a way to go but the fact that they're trying despite all the backlash is kinda inspiring in a way. I know I'd be feeling terrible if someone dragged things I worked on through the mud and some people arent even giving them a chance. I will admit, I used to hate on the game as well because I think I was upset that something I loved had changed so much, but now I realise that they're doing their best to improve

Yes, I have to say I enjoyed seeing the salad and the models for the different food, if we compare to Pioneers of Olive Town and its cooked fish & soup. I'm curious to see how the pace of the game is later, but now it didn't feel very good. Days went by sooo quickly, yet I had nothing to do beside collecting seeds from wisps, and my character would get exhausted from running around. I'll definitely give the game another chance since I've already bought it, let's see!

@@JoshGamingGarden The exploration part is quite a bug feature in the game. You need to eat food to replenish stamina. Some foods also are more suitable to eat during hot or cold climate (like when you're travelling a desert or a tundra).

It's funny that you mention using the medallions to simulate different weather. The HM DS and DS Cute games let you build different basement levels and you can find stones in the mine that you can place in the basement to let you grow crops of that season. So, it could be spring outside, but you could grow fall crops in your basement. It would be a great mechanic to bring back.

Becauae the people who made the original HM games dont make them anymore and make sos thats why the sos games seem amazing and the hm ones seem bad in comparison. People are remembering playing the original amazing hm games expecting the same quality out of different developers.
