The best way to learn is by buying it and driving it daily. with hill assist and a backup camera, it is easier to learn than ever. Props to you for taking a dive and buying the car and not knowing how to drive a manual daily. I wish more people were like you.

to find the bite point go somewhere level, put it in 1st, let the clutch out really slowly without giving it gas, when the car starts to move that's where the bite point is.

Good for you man. I bought me a manual WRX in January. Didn’t even know how to drive it. I’m 29 and had my dad drive the car home for me. Learned pretty quickly. It’s definitely never too late to learn. Have fun and be safe.

I did the same thing, bought my first car w/o knowing how to drive stick. It gives you more motivation to learn stick l, it only took me a week to fully drive a whole day w/o Stalling on me. This new BRZ is my dream car as well, so glad for you man🤩

Nice I just learned stick and all I can say it’s pretty easy the hardest thing is starting it and finding where you can start hit the gas. I can’t wait to see what you do with it. Another tip when you are in a light put it on Neutral cuz that help u rest. Anyways good luck man!

Actually so jealous lol, ordered my GR86 in January and want it here so bad 😭. For your first time learning stick you did so well! Expect to stall a couple times but these new cars make it really easy to learn. I learned in an ‘05 civic and that shit was rough lol

Haha I was somewhat in the same boat as you. I bought my GR86 back in January and drove it home after not driven stick in two years so I was a little rough but quickly got used to it. Scariest part for me was rev matching haha. The car definitely catches some eyes in the parking lot especially when parked next to a friends type r. Enjoy the car, I’m sure you’ll love it!

I bought a brand new sti two years ago and I didn't know how to drive stick either. it was my dream car and the ej motor was going away so i had to have it. drove 50 miles home from the dealer and stalled like 5 times. it sucks initially but you'll get it. get used to hill starts as soon as you can and the gates of the shifter up and down shifting. it will all be muscle memory in no time

The easiest and safest way to learn a clutch biting point is just to move off with clutch only, engaging and disengaging it in a parking lot or empty road. You could also just have the handbrake up and lift off the clutch slowly to where you can feel and hear the car move and rumble and the clutch in again. For getting the confidence, you could try uphill starts and practicing engine brake techniques so that you can efficiently daily a manual! Hope these few tips help you and get to enjoying that sweet BRZ Limited quicker and smoother!

1:23 December was when the first orders started being sent over here. I ordered mine in November and it arrived late January (didn’t pick up till mid February). I killed the car so many times on the first drive home and the dealer area had a lot of hills. Anyways, congrats on the car!

that's alright fam, I bought my '21 Type R in Nov of 2020 not knowing how to drive stick. Good thing my dad knows though, so he drove it home, and taught me how to drive like a man ASAP.

You can do it I bought a 2020 sti limited with never driving stick before and I learned and I have cerebral palsy. You can do it it just takes time and to know where biting point is once you figure that out and how much gas it becomes second nature

Congrats man! Have fun learning! Always leave it in gear when you park (not sure if you do or not). I see a lot of manual drivers leave it in neutral which would allow it to roll if the ebrake ever fails.

My dad drove home my 2020 BRZ. He taught me how to drive stick. Best tips practice driving in parking lots or if you can drive at night there's less cars around so no big deal if you stall and no one is around.

Took me 30 mins to learn stick and I started daily driving mine blew the clutch in the first month and after that I was solid lmao

The day this video was uploaded, I found and bought a '21 bone stock STi with 1k miles on it. Talk about lucky. This is my first manual trans vehicle too. After a week I think I got all my upshifts/downshifting down besides Rev match. And hills... fuck hills. I gotta learn those hill starts.

Nice car, driving stick is just about learning the mechanics of clutch bite, rev match and reflex. Just keep practicing it until you can drive the car without thinking. Make sure to not banga the car, It's hard to get one of those in the current market.

I have a s2k, can confirm, stick shift is fun af, but i live in a heavily congested city so auto is my daily. advice i'd like to give, learn to downshift and don't get in the habit of shifting it into neutral when you approach the light.
