A guy was able to get his hands on this 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T which you may recognize from Roadkill, Roadkill Garage, and Roadkill Extra. I'm just going to jump in it, and see if we can make it from Arizona back to Tennessee! Along the way we'll make several interesting stops, including checking out a 1935 Ford Pickup I bought. Come along for the adventure!

Derek, this episode was amazing. I was worried your channel would lose some of its edge as it got more popular. If anything, it's more focused and definitely still the same VGG. Also, I'm reminded of how much I love and miss Texas.

I can't believe how professionally it's produced. And the music is always totally appropriate and engaging. The family is just the icing on the cake, because they're all adorable. I give a nod to my son after every episode for introducing me to Derek's channels. Even us older women who don't know anything about cars can really appreciate his remarkable talent!

On behalf of all of your fans who grew up in families more rotten than the rear deck lid on the Vanishing Paint Challenger, thank you. You share your family with us and inspire us (well, me at least) to one day raise the kind of family I wish I had. This was a great video, really enjoyed it, made me miss my road trips back in the 1970's and 80's in cars that were cars instead of living rooms on wheels, well, I did have a couple of road trips in the living room on wheels kind of cars and also made me miss being on the road, I drove 18 wheelers and got 2.5 million safe miles before medical problems took me off the road in december of 2019 and just today, I had an appointment with my cardiologist, had been hoping to get cleared to get a DOT medical card so I could get back on the road, alas, that did not happen and he now wants to implant a freaking electronic something or other in my freakin chest. AND even worse, I used to enjoy wrenching on cars and I have a 89 IROC Z that has been in hibernation in a storage unit in Las Vegas for the last 13 years and it is looking like I'll have to pass it along to someone else who will bring it back to the road. but at least I can do some wrenching vicariously through your videos.

I have to thank you very much for this episode, especially the Space and Air Museum. Many years ago as an 18 year old fella, I went to Davis Montham in Tucson to bid on a WW2 surplus airplane that was up for auction. Saints be dipped, I won the auction. For $500 I got the plane and one hour of gas to find a civilian airport to tank up on my dime. I pulled it off and learned enough to fly jets for the Marines. Long winded story but true and again thank you for the reminiscence.

Hey Derek, did you see that nice fellow Brad, at Blind Guy Garage? I don't know if your "Meet Derek" contest winner is CHOSEN by you, or just a random drawing, but I'm sure pulling for this nice, deserving man to win it. Have you seen his video, asking you for his consideration? He has a Squarebody K5 Blazer, 2 Squarebody Suburbans, some other cool old Chevys, and 2 junkyard LS motors. He's legally blind and but has 4 adopted kids and a mower repair business.

Thank you so much I must say I don't want credit for being a veteran I am not one my eyes are messed up before I can get into any service. And I have five kids. LOL and I don't have any diesels. Again thank you so much for mentioning me I greatly appreciate it. God bless you and yours.

@@blindguygarage Brad, I coulda swore that K5 was a diesel. And that ya did 16 years in the service before yer eyes went bad. Defective memory card, I guess. I knew ya had 5 kids, but 4 of em were adopted, which don't happen by accident the way mine did 🤣. EDIT: I went back and edited my original comment, Brad. I took out the erroneous info. I wonder who the hell I was talkin' to who was a 16 year veteran before his medical discharge?? 🤔

Many a good times back then. The way you include your boys in all you do makes a guy wonder if they will inherit your channel or branch out. The excitement is building.

Awesome I have a 1970 RT challenger with a 440 magnum four-speed pistol grip super cool car I’ve had it for 23 years really love it I keep it stored in my warehouse with a cover so it’s in great shape 86,000 all original miles. I also have a 1970 SS Camaro with a 396 numbers matching three speed automatic I have the original build sheet found it underneath the seat when I was putting in a carpet kit, and a 55 Chevy nomad V8 with dealer installed AC super cool car. The sad thing is over the past 20 years I’ve put on about 1500 miles between all three of my cars it’s always been one thing or another busy I started to change the oil take them for a ride around the block but they should be driven sometimes I think they deserve a new owner so that people can enjoy them I’m just not sure what to do. On your original note I think the 340 was one of the coolest strongest nicest small blocks ever made what a powerhouse.

I am a former military pilot and appreciate the nod to the Vets. Also, I saw a spark in one of your boys regarding aviation. I think you might see one of 'em gravitate in that direction. You're a good man Derek, this video warmed my heart. For a young man like you, who tries to portray himself as a scatter brained, ne'er do well, the reality is, you have it figured out. First, you include your family in all that you do, and make it interesting and a learning experience for the young ones. Because of this, I'm confident it will pay benefits down the line, with well rounded, confident young adults, who won't end up being statistics, or homeless, or addicted to opioids, or whatever rotten trend bored kids can find their way into. There's a closeness there that all young families can learn from, every one secure in his/her role, and important to the whole. You have it right by not putting the importance on a 9-5 existence, instead, keeping it interesting and always on an upward learning curve. You have a patient and beautiful wife who shares your interests and lifestyle, and well, basically, you are a very rich man. Money isn't the way to happiness, spending money never bought it, however, it's how you spend the most valuable thing we all have, but few recognize, your time. I'm certain, when you're old, and your hips lock up, the knees and the back's decline can only be measured by some type of protractor, you will be able to look back and say, I wouldn't change a thing; and you will recognize that the love and closeness, inclusiveness, you instilled in your family, will be evident, when their families keep you and your lovely wife a part of their adventures. In all seriousness, God bless you and yours Derek, and continue delighting the world with your unique, good and clean channel!!!

Reading the comments just corroborates my thoughts on my fellow VGG fans, many are rooting for you to become more and more successful, and one of the main reasons is because we (allow me to generalize lol) love the simplicity in your shows, the family content, the whole nine yards....because it’s people like you that entertain those of us now that have become disillusioned and disgusted with the nonsense coming out of the “usual” media outlets, movies, etc...hollyweird has simply cut us normal good ole American folks out of their planning when it comes to entertainment, but who cares when you seem to be doing it better than they did for many, many years lately.....LETS GO BRANDON!!!
