I found the cheapest ATV I could find and turned it into the ultimate GPS four wheeler. I love these honda recon ATVs

If you run non-ethanol gas in all your carbureted motors, you will have far less problems with your carbs in the future. We haven’t rebuilt a carb since. Have a good day.

Please start wearing safety glasses when you’re working in the shop. Just make it a standard practice. I have managed a shop and it’s required for all employees on the shop floor. To easy to damage your eyes the way you are grinding and cutting with no eye protection.

I learned from doing my own DIY, you have to watch about four different videos. A couple of mechanics said, turn the engine backwards? I decided instead to tap the starter, to release the spring on the timing chain tensioner. 😏

@@6thGenFarmer she's a sweet ride man! All day comfort and 30+ mpg on a trip. Nice work on bringing the Honda back around. Looking forward to the clutch work video.

That's a handy way of doing your survey work. It's small and quick to get around with. Just quit riding it at 40 mph. I worked with Emergency Services, I saw things. No further explanation needed. I'm a reitired Emergency Vehicle Tech and that covered alot of stuff. Fire and Rescue equipment have a lot of small gas engines on them. I'd get a call to come work on this item or that item that wouldn't start. It usually was from the gas being switched off. So, I got me some small stickers made up that said,"TURN THE GAS ON IDIOT'

For your one of your first couple times doing voice over, not to bad. However, there was a couple small things you could improve on. Those I will hit you up privately. Again for one of your early voice over nicely done. IN regards, to the project I liked it. could you have Levi restore the red shell like he did on the tractor?

Where did you get the wiring harness from? Is it bought for this exact purpose (the ATV) or is it a normal wiring harness? :)
@6thGenFarmer

It is a mobile mapping harness. I found this one while digging in an old box of harnesses but you can buy them from ag express for about $300

Well, for most of the video I had my $80 Amazon boots but I wore my flip flops for a clip or 2 while cleaning the carburetor 😂😂

I put gps on my suzuki 300, and quickly found out it overheats when trying to drive boundaries. Doesn't overheat when using it to get from here to there. I also had to put a resistor type spark plug on it to prevent radio interference.

I’ve never heard of having to put a resistor type spark plug on a atv before to stop interference. I’m not too worried about overheating as it does have an external oil cooler and was used in a stop and go environment it’s entire life

I'll give you $635 for it LOL. What about using inexpensive cooler or toolbox to mount on front and cut in/out holes in it, so you can keep the cords out of the way? Plus, can't your guy who did your JD track unit get it back to original color?
@6thGenFarmer
@6thGenFarmer Жыл бұрын
I could look into some sort of box that not only would look a bit better but also keep all those wires dry. Also, I probably could have Levi restore the color, but I don't think it is worth my time or his. For what I am using it for I think I will just leave it as is.
