Retro rick bought my favorite game store, then jacked the prices up. He also sold my cousin a console that went out after 15 hours and wouldn't return it. Said that it was not broken before we got it.

Idk man I gotta side with Rick on this one. Whenever buying a retro console just has inherent risk to it, these things are old. The thing probably really was fine when they had it. Rick cannot be held accountable for what happens to it once it enters your home.

10:00 it wasn't banned. They were not really disallowed. IQue had a deal to produce them locally as it was actually not allowed to import game consoles. This way, the games could be scrutinized beforethey could be played. This has changed a lot now. It is easy to get a console, like PS5, Xbox, switch, etc.

Fun to watch these types of videos (RR, Froggy Flips), because being in my mid 40s I have a large collection of similar items in my basement stored away and/or out for my kids to enjoy and its amazing how resale can be sometimes. I would have never thought it at the time.

It’s a weird story but Japan and China doesn’t have good relationships at time and China had a communist government that didn’t allowed that foreign brands made business on their territory, but also had trouble controlling their people so they need a way to maintain them entertained in other things, so the government pay the rights and licenses to Nintendo in order to use their games and some of their patents on China’s own consoles, so there exists many legal Chinese nintendo knockoff consoles including the portables

Rick has some great negotiation skills that you can use in a lot of situations. Like that last deal. He gets them to throw out a number first. Then ask what the lowest they can go is. He got $150 knocked off of it without much hassle.

I´m a collector from Germany and I collected all the Game Boy Pockets over the years. They typically came in these shells over here. So I guess that´s a PAL thing. Same with the "Play it Loud" editions, these came in a plastic shell as well that could also hold some games.

My best find was from 3 years ago, at a garage sale, see an N64 box, it was towards to the of the day. Thought either they want too much or the system isnt in it. I look and theres the system, two zelda ganes in box complete and 3 other complete games, i ask how much and the dad says $10, the son then says $20. I say $15. 😂

Man my poor ass can't afford retro stuff anymore. I miss the days of lots in the early eBay days where you could get loads of games for cheap, I use to give away my extra copies because it was so cheap. Sadly I'm back to the high seas and Everdrives at least I can play the games. I love retro but hate the pricing that only people who are rich or use games as a tax write-off due to them being used in "Content" their unlimited buying power has ruined it for the little guy working 40+ hours a week.
