He underperformed his xG in every single season he's been in the Premier League. It's been 8 seasons, i highly doubt his finishing will improve, i think he might be better suited to a offensive midfield role.

Again, I would point out that it is rather difficult for Jesus to play aerial duels against strong PL central backs, hold on to the ball, set the play up for Martin or our two wingers and then eventually sprint fully for another 20 meters just to show up at the right place & the right time and put the goal into the back of the net. Especially when Mikel wanted a lot of high pressing from him and Martin too on defense. Lots of people used to accuse Giroud in the same way without considering how much work he has done as Number 9 before everything could even happen as a scoring chance appears. It appears to me that this season Mikel indeed wanted to relieve the pressure from Jesus so he doesn't need to do all those things while expecting him to score as many goals as Haaland (last season version obviously because this season when he has to do "blue collar jobs" he is not scoring that much neither)---we got Havertz from Chelsea which everyone else and even some Arsenal fans thought it was a bad deal. But Havertz, like what he has proved in this big match against City, his physical ability and skills allowed him to do things that used to be done by Jesus alone. Jesus and Kai now can play solid Number 9 and drop back nimbly. However, it was quite troublesome that Kai couldn't play as an 8 in the midfield which was almost perfectly executed by Granit last year. Such a shame on the injury of Timber and too bad he wouldn't be fit for the squad until next season. He is much more physically capable than Zinchenko or Benny and would make our back line less vulnerable if Rice is the only CDM on the pitch.

His finishing is actually decent, the problem is most chances he gets are created by himself and that's not too many, he doesn't get near enough chances
