The way you talk about this bike reminds me of the way I feel about my Honda XR650L! Every time I consider "upgrading", I come back to baseline and consider what I want out of a motorcycle: fun, comfortable ergos, reliable, and fast enough. Sports bike bros will say it's slow, but you can really wring its neck and have a great time on any road or trail! I guarantee I will have more fun going 80 on that bike than on a liter bike with fairings lol.

About going tubeless on that bike... On tubeless rims, there's a grove wherein the beads seat. Your front rim doesn't have that so it may deflate suddenly if on a hard bump or dip. You better use a rim sealant or get a tubeless rim. I work at a tyre shop BTW.

Looks like a road to me! In the summer after I purchased it, I did 8000 miles throughout the west on my '22 CRF450RL in 32 days. Adventure/Sport/Touring !BEAST! Camping/cooking all my own meals. No motels, no restaurants, no service by shops . . . and . . . no windshield! Going again this year, but with dual sport tires on Sumo rims. Can not wait! (PS, I turn 69 this year.) ✌😎

@@jacobhornberger8073 I'm using the Mosko Rekless 40L soft luggage with a 20L and 8L add-on bags and a Wolfman tank bag. I also got a Nomad 5 gallon (20 liter) fuel tank. Lovin' it!

@@njmxjunkie3128 it is sadly, euro5+ has killed it and they don’t sell enough for it to be worth manufacturing, visor down released a KZfaq video and an article discussing it, not much was said for the mt-10 though.

Yeah they aren't updating it for euro5 regulations I imagine the r9 is gonna be the replacement, since they filed the patent for it and such

@DiamondSquidy it probably will be a little underpowered, but that's fine cause it's still (likely) going to be a stupid amount of power produced. The R1 isn't going to be continuing for street use after 2024/2025 due to emission laws and not selling enough to justify the fines. Same issue the R6 had and why it got replaced by the R7. Sportbike riders are really notable on the internet, but irl demand isn't anywhere near high enough to justify these big inline 4 engines. It's more power than most people care to have + the ergonomics aren't very comfortable.

tire fix, you dont have to dunk the tire. you can use something like a windex bottle with a soapy water mix to search for leaks.

I knew a guy who rode a Honda 125 all the way round the coastline of mainland UK for charity so , no, you do not need a 1200cc to go touring. As for the slight leak in your tubeless setup, why don't you squirt in some tyre puncture sealant to see if that makes a difference .

Your leak could be somewhere around the tire bead. I had a slow leak on my 911 and had the rear tire removed twice and still had a leak, finally I had then put bead sealer and the leak stopped.

Any bike can be a touring bike as long as you put miles on it. I put 16k miles on a MT-03 in 1.5 years. I did 400 miles on a FZ1 the other day. (It needs a better seat before I do more.)

I have a Ducati Monster 696 and I'm a cheap bastard like you and don't want to get into massive debt for a "faster/bigger" bike. I'm totally content with it. Same power output as your current Scrambler and is comfortable. My friends give me shit cus I ride a "beginner bike" and don't have a liter bike or something similar due to ridding for over 10 years. But im happy with my bike. Thx for showing others how you don't need the latest and greatest (fastest) bike to be happy.

yeah - if you don't get authorization from the off road counsel then you can't post pictures or videos claiming to have ridden off-road or on an off-road bike. There are very specific requirements for the terrain and machinery to qualify. It's a complicated system that few understand which is why the counsel was formed. In addition to the counsel, if you post in error, there is a community of expert dude bros who will kindly remind you that "you've done it wrong".

Just because you happen to ride on unpaved surfaces doesn’t mean you’re serious offloading. It’s not like you’re going on dirtbike trips all the time. Hell, if there’s a shortcut behind some trail that hasn’t been made into a road yet, take it and be there before your buddies. Not that you have those.
