I was with the guy in the red civic, we threw some axles in and he made another pass towards the end of the night lol. Set the pressure in the slicks to 7psi and preload 1st gear as much as it'll let you without crawling forward. Realistically to keep these D16 trannies alive it needs an MFactory diff and some upgraded axles. An MFactory long first gear helps as well to get it out of the hole without blowing the tires off. Some good little upgrades are the SpeedFactory detent springs if you have a Y8 trans and some Torco RTF fluid to keep it from grinding synchros between high RPM shifts.

I have an ek hatch for sale up in ct, still has a motor but it has practically no rust. (Not like offerup “No RuSt”, actually no rust)

Quick tips for staging your car- after the burnout roll into the 1st light only (or half light) from there when both of you are ready you can hold your e-brake up to hold you in place and get on your launch control but play around with it and get used to being on launch control while preloading your drivetrain (this will help alot in saving that transmission/axles as it doesnt shock the drivetrain as much as just dumping the clutch would) lastly once launch DONT dump the clutch, let off of it 60-75% then quickly (but smoothly) let off the rest of the way. After some practice you'll get used to feeling your wheel speed and know more of the timing in slipping the clutch. Honestly i wouldnt upgrade axles right off the bat as an axle is much easier and cheaper to replace than a trans

Evan i have a Civic coupe & Accord Coupe V6,so that BRZ needs to come home with me i hope 🙏 or to someone who Truly needs it. We need that Flex.

Try to load the drivetrain on the line (with clutch & or e-brake) and feather/slip the clutch a little brother, shocking the drivetrain like that (dumping the clutch without launch control dialed) will kill axles, output shafts etc..learned that the hard way lol.

This hits me right at home also. I have a lot of anxiety that stops me from taking my Type R to the track. I have been modding it and having fun working on the car to where I want it to be, but still have not taken it out to any track.

You should do an AWD conversion on the civic, it'll give you a better launch and maybe split the power between your axles instead of just your front, probably a smaller chance of breaking them

You have to preload the clutch on the line hold the ebrake up and let the clutch out slightly till you feel it grab a little then slip the clutch a little dont just dump it. It will make the Trans and axels last alot longer.

Love the honda content, I have a ek for sale, has a b16 (doesn't run). Was a stance machine so rear quarter pannels are rolled bad, all 4 tires are showing wire. Have a sunroof and rear trailing arm just needed to be installed. (PROJECT NEEDS A LOT OF WORK) plus I live in Texas :)
