In this Slay the Spire gameplay, Baalorlord does an Ascension 20 run with Silent. First, he gives tips on choosing a path and a starting bonus. Later on, he explains his decision for each card he chooses and why it's important to the build. Towards the end, he gears up for an epic Heart fight you don't want to miss. Phantasmal Killer is actually so insane when in a deck with this much card draw and cycle. Playing it multiple times in the same turn basically puts you in no downside Wrath

I personally find silent a much more consistent character. I see workable choices much easier than I do with any other character.

Just beat the heart on A13. Had Footwork+, Wraith Form+, Nightmare+, Paper Crane, Kunai, 2 Blade Dance+ cards, Tough Bandages, and 3 Calculated Gamble + cards. All my cards were upgraded because I chose I Am Awake at the Mindbloom event. Needless to say, I had great defence. My offence primarily came in the form of 2 copies of Phantasmal Killer (one of which I picked up from Spear and Shield).

Jaw Worm fight was played well. Just unlucky that time. These Jaw Worms make me thing that "choose a card" and "upgrade a card" Neow bonuses are a bit underrated. Just consistent immediate power.

Jaw worm fight really benefits from having an upgraded neutralize, in my experience. Now you can just play it every time you draw it and not worry about not always getting the benefit of the weaken.

1:25:57 18x7 is 126 not 108. 😂😂 dude my brain was so confused!! I was like 10x7 is 70 and 7x8 is 56! Total is 126 but my brain couldn’t calculate how the number shown was 108 when I know it did 126… it was because he said it and the number displayed it… wow the power of suggestion is so strong.

I massively underrated Shrug It Off when I was new. I always felt constricted by energy on Ironclad, and the draw didn't feel like it meant much since I'd often have too little energy to actually play what was drawn. Turns out, having a block card that can dig for a better damage card than Strike keeps it relevant even well into the late game.

Hey there I'm new here. What's that "legend" path shown in green on the map? Looks like a mod, does that suggest the best path to take? Or a suggested path according to some preferences of yours?

It's just a mod that lets you draw a path on the map - none of that is automated any way, Baalor just looked at the map, decided on a good path and then marked it. The mod is called mapmarks. You can find an overview over all of Baalors mods here: baalorlord.tv/mods

I don’t really think that’s fair to say she’s not the weakest because the best silent player on earth has a streak less than the watcher on her. You’d just need to look at the win rate of good players to find out she’s the worst.

Can someone explain to me why the flechette damage was scaling up so high? I know I'm missing something here, but he wasn't gaining strength from anything, and yet on some turns his flechettes would be doing like 30 x X damage. Was there a relic somewhere in there that was doing that?..

Pen Nib + Phantasmal Killer + Vulnerable makes it deal 6 times normal damage. Usually some combination of those are responsible.

Silent is not the weakest character on A20H by a long shot! The streak is on her is second best with, while Clad and Defect are below 20! She hates Slime boss, but has a good heart matchup, and that is the most important one.

I think "strongest" / "weakest" characters are kind of ill-defined anyway. Win rates/streaks are defined by consistency, so I guess you could define win consistency as "strong", and it's probably the only data-centric way to define this; but I don't think I see a lot of decks from Silent that I would think are just blatantly OP the way that a Defect deck can be. As in, if you throw an OP Defect and an OP Silent into a bar fight, I think Defect would win :)

Win streak records are a very unreliable way of telling character strength. One lucky run on Ironclad from Xecnar and suddenly Silent is 3rd strongest by this metric. Xecnar has also spent the most time with Silent, so it makes this measure even more unreliable.
