How I felt after buying it, really couldn’t believe how good RAW shots could be after throwing it in Lightroom. I purchased it for a secondary camera but now I find myself bringing it everywhere and a lot of the time on its own

Went to Okinawa for the first time this year and I absolutely loved the amount of colour I'd find in the streets. Definitely a different atmosphere and vibe compared to the rest of Japan. In a sense it's almost like it's own country. Quite a mixture of Japanese and Western influence since you get a lot of Americans living or visiting.

Thanks for the vid, enjoyed it :) @2:20 nice that you explain how it works, i am just wondering: by half pressing you lock exposure but normally also focus right? So then your focus would be off from the subject or how do you make sure you are focussed on your subject later on? Clever trick i would say with minimal buttons on the gr.

That is correct, but I use the snap distance priority mode. The shutter button don't focus, my focus point is determined by the distance and depth of field I choose within my Snap distance priority mode ;)

I just found ur channel some days ago and i loved it! I like how simple u make the things but also how beautiful images u take. I would like to get an "affordable griii" to take with me everywhere and was thinkg about the rx100iii or something similar. What u think about?

That would be a good option yeah, personally I still take my RX100II with me sometimes instead of the big A7IV. Only downside is poor battery life but a few spares can fix that.

I really like your photos, can I ask you why did you shot most of theme at f2.8 instead of a smaller apperture ?

Thanks! I shoot a lot with the snap distance priority mode and a lot of time it suggest f2.8. At 28mm it is OK, you won't have issue with depth of field and actually for the Ricoh, f2.8 is one of the f stop where the lens is the sharpest

Are these jpegs out of camera or are u using your Lightroom Presets on any of them? And if you use your Presets, is it One-Click Editing or are u performing more steps, e.g. for the grain or light bloom?

I edit all my images with my Lightroom Presets. With One Click they bring you already a long way into editing an image but the grain is added on top as the last step. I have some efficiency tools in my v2 Presets to add grain in one click, there is two grain settings I like so I saved them as presets to add the grain in one click

I think the Ricoh is better than the X100v. There's a certain feel this camera gives you that the X100v doesnt. Can't really describe it.

I agree 100%, I loved my X100V and missed it when I sold it. But I got my Ricoh and there is something about this camera that for me just feels different. It's a very very special camera to me

@@danewetton yeah man its hard to put my finger on it but it definitely feels a lil more cinematic. With the X100V Im reminded that it's an APS-C camera. With the Ricoh, I forget and think I shot full frame. Hopefully they replacement for the Ricoh is coming soon and w/ built in flash.

Maybe the GRIII is a more versatile option but it can be difficult to master such a wide lens like the 28mm. You can still crop in a little bit given that the lens is so sharp so the GRIII might be a good option for you

Yea and street photography is not for everyone i think, it needs additional “thing” to fill the emptiness, such as music or history behind the photo, etc. Without them, street photography is nothing imo..
