I think, under the Ships Tab, at the end, there is a Tool to "Build" the Ship Paths for Cruise and container Ships. so you can build your harbor wherever you like

Kibz, there is a rather neat-o intercity bus-metro hub for the harbour, and you can run bus lines from intercity bus platforms! There is also a cool airport monorail station on the steam workshop for when you build the airport.

Same! But I really hope they improve the train system. It doesn't make sence to build train intersections... The reason why the train system is so bad in this game is that it doesn't follows any signals or stuff. Implementing a signal like in real world (and e.g. in Transport Fever 2) would be such a massive improvement in this game!!

@ImKibitz to save traffic and to keep high traffic interchanges from clogging up, whenever there is an exit, change the highway to a 2 lane highway and when the exit connecting reconnects, keep it as a 3 lane highway. It does wonders in heavily used intersections.

You should consider adding dedicated bus lanes to the highway and main roads leading from the highway to the main transit hub.

I was looking around in Florida and something that intrigued me was how on the panhandle was pretty much covered with oil fields and just on the outskirts were resort towns and beaches. Destin, Florida for example. There is an inland mining town that does this too. Huge mine that goes straight into this hotel tourist party resort town. Mount Dora is the example. Just interesting ideas that fit in with the style of this city.

@@Dramn_ that’s actually an in-game feature of the fishing industry. There is a Mod where you can actually alter the yellow dashed shipping lanes. It also works on the flight path of airplanes.

Kibitz you've gotta chuck a separate domestic freight train line to that port, that will run from your ore area to the warehouse area. Or your suffering will be eternal. Also that passenger harbour is easily the best I've ever seen I'm very jealous.

At 7:40, why not build an eleveated Round-about with your four lane highways and two-lane on/off ramps for cars instead of the long stretched interchange? What I do is I draw an elevated 4-lane highway and make it a circle, then, add two lanes entering and entering and exiting each direction, then add a 6-lane road between the connections for traffic to enter and exit the roundabout then connect that to your highway.

Cont...(part 2, see pt 1 first) The second option, one i use, is more work to set up but more reliable and doesnt require managing unless you rebuild the things it uses. Take an older, stable part of the city thats upgraded and really wont change radically anymore...Install a single water tower somewhere and connect it to the buildings of this more stable area solely by keeping this water system separate from main one. Connect it to ur outlet and have this tower supply enough buildings to use over 40k water rate but under the single towers supply of 60. The difference between used and 60k is what ull get out of your outlet. So if u want a bit less from outlet, connect up a few more buildings etc... Of course youll also need a small waste out for this so it can remain unconnected from the rest of ur supply, but this way you have a much finer control of amount out and no budget management is required...Ive had outlets before or cosmetic little streams at just a few hundred up to several thousand and it works really well. One final option if youve a place to do it in a mountainous area off somewhere unseen is to place an outlet high up at full 20k, then terriform a winding stream down the mountain...on a separate line place a pump at bottom of this stream, then from it run a stand alone line to ur decorative outlet in city. By varying length of stream on mtn, u can increase/decrease the amt of water that is lost to evap and soaking into ground to send whats left to ur outlet (or trench it to split 2-3 times, dividing the 20k flowing down and place pump on one of the branches only sending a fraction of 20k to ur outlet). Its a bit of work, but outsmarts the game mechanics so you can make some really nice cosmetic water based things in parks etc. Hope someone enjoys and learns from this...Typing long msgs on ps4 is painfully time consuming lol. Water outlet releases EXCESS water thats produced/collected UP TO its rating (20k i think it is). Now if youre constantly building it requires micromanaging ur water budget frequently, but u can minimize this a lot...PLEASE READ FOR FULL DESCRIPTION (part 1) Water use stays pretty constant once buildings initially build, maybe w a bit of variance with night enables but still variations are small. Since the outlets release excess water, u can directly control how much or how little they release by keeping your available water production rate however much above the used rate you wish the outlet to pump out. Example: If you need ur outlet to only release say 5000 for a small stream in the park, adjust ur budget down so your production is roughly 5k above usage rate and ur outlet will only release the difference of 5k. This can be tedious the especially if u wish for the outlet amt to be really small...but option two is more time and work to set up but once set up requires no constant maintaining of budge to keep ur outlet amt set. Now a modified form of 1st option will require less budget setting precision so close to barely producing more than used, but still requires managing it. If u want say 5k again, set budget so uve 45k above used rate (so a minor spike doesnt cause shortages), but have a place close to ur water generation you can place two outlets harmlessly into a river etc (usually just put them beside ur pumps). Then place ur 3rd outlet where u want the stream...the game fils outlet rates based on distance from source (so all ur pumps need to be in one place), so the two at the pumps operate first priority and both output 20k. Last to operate would be the distant one, and since theres only 45k excess and 40k already is being released, the 3rd outlet only releases remaining 5k.

The subway should be the fastest, most direct route. No need to follow the roads, a straight line minimising travel time (whilst stopping at other stops) is perfect.

@ImKibitz If you had a flood service building near the water feature with a short road, they will come out and take care of any flooding when it starts to spill over. It is the only way I know of to "automate" the fresh water pump.

Hey Kibitz, when at x3 speed the water simulation is simplified and does weird things. If you leave the game at x1 the water simulation is normal and works better.

I am devastated you destroyed that little island. :( I vote you bring it back and do something with it! Put tourist traps on it, as well? Have a simple crossing as soon as the cruise ships come in? Can definite make the island a bit further out to give room, but I don't think getting rid of it completely was the play. :( :( :(

I'm not sure which mod it is, something like advanced building options, when you click on the freshwater outlet it gives you all the settings for the building, including it's freshwater output. I made a pond by lowering the output rate until it stayed level.

Not really. He is playing mostly vanilla but has bought all the add ons and DLC's. Besides that he is just using common stuff like move it, road anarchy and tree anarchy to place things down.

Just a random thought : You know what would be great. A new event / disaster that may or may not be a WAR. The idea is that vehicles like tanks and Humvees could drive on in from outside the map and that you could set up new structures / buildings like military checkpoints. You could also have a new policy which most basically tells your citizens to set up barricades on roads but not on highways as that is your job of course. But, there would be the opportunity for an alliance to be made with the attackers before the imminent attack, though with a cost. (Such as a cut in your overall current cash by 1/4) Another feature could be that all the natural disasters would be locked for the war period. Though, there could be a few new events / disasters such as airstrikes.

This city really needs a nice, big military base, to keep an iron grip on those pesky wage sla- I mean to protect all those valued, hard-working citizens from no-good criminals, yes. 😁 Also, having actual disaster-relief vehicles in the city would be really useful and let you have random disasters for some extra fun content. Heck you could even use the mod that replaces your disaster responder vehicles with humvees and incorporate the depots for them into the military base! =^x^=

Yeah, after the update, Harbors were worse, first they didn't work at all, then they get fifty ships coming (except the ferry/harbor Hub), still haven't had ANY ships come to that.

Personally I would have connected the island to mainland only by train so cargo only goes to island where there is several harbor. Idk yours is cooler too
