I'd love to see an extreme version of this where you weren't allowed to throw anything you find away. And I want to see sinks in every single room of the house or just along a while 😂 and then one toilet for the whole family to use. Finally a basement filled with lounge chairs. It'd just be funny

I love this, it feels very realistic because you don't tend to have everything match perfectly when you start out irl, so despite finding them in the dumpster it feels super realistic 😂☺️

I'm doing a Rags to Riches Off-the-Grid, except without any skills to begin, no disable needs cheat and no 'free' vacuum. However, I do have aging, autonomy and NPC voting off. Burnt items, dishes, trash are recycled, anything found not used/wanted is sold for building supplies, Eco objects (windmill, solar panels, etc.), crafting machines (fabricator, woodworking, etc.), landscaping and food. Anything that can be fabricated is not kept either, except upgrade parts. Also, everything found must be placed first before being sold. Selling them from the inventory is cheating for the full price. Oh and he kept the Sims 1 stuff and only one bike. All lighting is candles so far, dyes must be found in the dumpster and wax is from six soybean plants. Also, he's never left Port Promise. So much fun! Loved your version too though. :) P.S. He still needs a stove, so hard to find in my game too!

assuming all the money came from dumpster diving, a homeless, jobless sim can make over 10,000 in a day or two just by digging in the trash?

Hi Deli, I loved watching this video. Great challenge :) I don't know if you noticed, but when you put the items from your inventory down, they sell for half the price as they would sell for right from the inventory before putting them down. Just wanted to tell you so you'll have more money to build in the future :)

Hot tip for anyone thinking of doing this. Dumpsters at the community spaces that are not yet made into maker studios and such refill a lot faster. The lot at confer station has toilets and benches nearby as well as fridges that spawn. Happy hunting

I did this challenge myself with no cheats, and allowed my sim to only use build/buy mode for build items and fabrication type buy items (as I incorporated fabricated items to fill out the house too), as well as the household inventory, but that's it! It was fun, my sim started with no skills and now has hundreds of thousands of dollars (from selling kombucha and houndstooth dye), and a really very unique looking home!

How come no one is going over to the Community Space? There is a dumpster there and my sim got 700 Simoleans from dumpster diving. I find that some of the best stuff comes from that dumpster. If it changes, I usually put a dumpster on it. Watching this again, in 2021, and I realized you forgot the mirror in the bathroom--or bedroom. Nice job Deli!

This house came out so cute, I feel like only working with certain items forces inspiration that wouldn't otherwise be there. It would be fun to have people upload lots with a bunch of random items on them (although a specific number of each or you'd end with a house full of toilets or something) and then see what kind of build you come up with.

This is a home furnished with stuff you had but also stuff your family didn't want because you just moved out for the first time. Hence, random.

In my let’s play I’ve been slowly building up a house and furnishing most of it with dumpster or fabricated items. It took me 2 sims years (counting time in seasons) to find a toilet. I did buy overhead lights, a counter, garbage bin, juice and candle stations, and the solar panels/wind turbines.

So many Simmers have been doing this and keep claiming as their own it's hilarious 🤣💀😂

I was doing an extreme rags to riches building a house using only dumpster or fabricated (mostly lights) items, except the sim had to build their way up in the eco career to get the smog vacuum and the needs were dynamic. Let's just say the sim in constantly dirty and falling asleep.

I want to either do or see someone do this challenge, but add you can't change the colors of the items you find. Should make for interesting house 🤣
