@@TheSmugglersRoom My initial knee-jerk reaction was "Why go through all that trouble? Just expose the wiring." But it took me a few seconds to realize it really wouldn't have fit the aesthetic at all. Gorgeous build. Your stuff always looks like magic to me. I can watch every second and still miss the transformation moment.

@@TheSmugglersRoom Just had a bit of a thought for your bar area of your room build. If you like wines, meads and ale. I've been watching a couple from Florida who create such things. Their channel is called City Steading Brews. Maybe they can create a Bantha Mead, Ewokian style ginger beer or something of the sort. I mean they've made drinks inspired from things like Skyrim and Star Trek. Like I said it was just a thought. Again, God bless and have a wonderful day.

Hay loved the episode, this project is actually already one of my favorite ones I seen you do. Wow! It was worth the wait, the extra time you sent on it shows...My biggest problem is when I'm working on my projects what I thank may take a couple of weeks to complete ends up thanking more than a few months 😳( I do make all of my projects from scratch) then I end up setting the project aside for months or years because I gotten burned out . Then I finally jump back into it, only then I realize how close I was in finishing it in the first place😢 it drives my wife crazy
@TheSmugglersRoom
@TheSmugglersRoom 23 күн бұрын
You are totally not alone. There are so many projects that I have started through the years that get stalled for this reason. The reality is, sometimes these projects get too big, or go on too long, and then burnout sets in. So taking a break is actually a great thing. I think half of the time the reason coming back to a project and having it finish so quickly is because you gave your mind time to rest and removed from the project. That time away totally helps finish when you come back to it.

The video was well worth the wait! I love the final results. Chucky makes such a cool addition to the room. That LCD and all the LED really sets it apart. You two really keep leveling up your worth with each video. I'm really getting the itch to start something like this once I have the right space. Great tip to write down paint colors on each project, that definitely could save some headache between long gaps in a project (which I usually have too). Any plans to fill the small gap and visible wall between Chucky and the Nostramo door w/ another small panel project or more pads?

Great video. I'd love to one day make an ultra-realistic star wars room myself. By the way, what do you think of animatronic, is it that difficult to make? With technology and AI becoming more and more emergent in our society, it wouldn't shock me if before long Disney created real star wars robots with artificial intelligence, which is logically (I think?) superior to animatronic.

Yet, you and your wife give such inspiration to add things to the prints, lights, mini dioramas for the prints, you see where this going. I dont sell, I gift or donate, store them when and where I find the room. And watching your videos, just a relaxing, no pressure approach to doing things... just have fun, so rare anymore. Is there a video or more details about the LCD that you used and how that gets setup????? That would be something that would be very interesting to me. Also... does each of the panel in your room have a separate power supply and how do you go about planning that so that you don't have to setup 9,000 powerstrips that you have to turn on everytime your in the room???? Seriously.... I could ask questions for days!!!!!

I used Adobe After Effects to setup the video that runs on the LCD. I think after all i have seen in the comments today I need to do a video on how to create the HUD effects asap! So I will get that on the list as soon as I can. Then I can go through all the steps on the LCD and how it is setup for you guys. As for the power, that is a great question. I think I need to address that in a video too. Now that I have multiple systems setup, i can run through the process of how that's done. I'll get that cooking here soon as well. Thanks!

Had a thought, what if a smuggler had learned new skills making the character more reliable and dependable, there would be newer or new parts that have replaced worn out ones as a sign of newfound success. An idea for new looking parts on the lived in Star Wars galaxy. Yay, nay? Maybe I should stop reading the book series Legacy Of The Force (LOL! yeah not happening). It's an older book series but it has a fun look at the main characters of the after original Star Wars trilogy. More of a Lukas feel.

Definitely a cool addition. I'm interested in where you got the machine indicator light switches (shown at 3:48) because I would like to try and get some of them myself. Those Allen switches came in a box of junk I ordered from Ebay believe it or not. They were all non functional and damaged in some way. The crazy thing is, they are VERY expensive to purchase working. But they are incredibly cool looking. The top components are still going to be installed, just at a later time. I have something great planned for the top portion. Coming soon!

Question? On the paneling that you glued the paper towel too. How strong is it? Would I have to strategically place it to keep from bumping it? To keep from any damage.
@TheSmugglersRoom
@TheSmugglersRoom 24 күн бұрын
Great question. It is pretty durable. When the modpodge cures it is pretty hard. It almost creates a "shell" that holds up really well. You can also add multiple layers of the glue to build up strength. I did that on several projects that needed extra protection. You just add a layer, let it fully cure, then add another, and so on. Works great!
