I Built an Off Grid Solar TINY HOUSE in a Van for $3,500 :
This van is Set up as an off-grid stealth camper van.
It is fully equipped with a solar power electrical system. There are two Solar Panels discretely mounted to the roof of the van. All the rest of the electrical components including the Solar Controller, Pure Sine Wave inverter, and deep cycle Gel battery are mounted inside of the van.
The batteries are also connected to the van’s alternator to maximize its charging capabilities. With this electrical system installed, you can watch tv, charge devices, and play video games for hours without running out of power.
There are AC and USB outlets in convenient areas throughout the van, as well as super bright rechargeable magnetic LED lights with 3 brightness levels.
The living area of this tiny house has gas heat and a gas oven/stove. There’s also a fully functional sink and water system, as well a flushing toilet.
For cooking and ventilation, the tiny house has a 3 speed Dometic Fan-Tastic roof vent above the kitchen area.
There is a projector screen that can be angled on a swiveling wall mount which is connected to a DTV antenna and my PS4 video game console.
The couch can seat 4 people and converts into a king sized bed. There is a massive easy to reach storage space under the bed.
There are 3 layers of insulation which makes it easy to regulate temperature inside the van regardless of the temperature outside of the van.
All cabinets in the van are secured with magnets to make sure nothing falls while the van is moving. There is also a Murphy desk that has integrated wireless charging for personal cellular devices, laptops, and tablets.
The van is in excellent mechanical condition. I’ve driven it from North Carolina to California and back without a single issue.
I wanted to test my building skills by renovating an older van than I'm usually used to working with, so i decided to build this solar powered Urban Stealth Camping tiny house Van using the shell of a 1989 Ford Econoline 150. In this video I take you with me from start to finish and show everything that I built from the electrical setup to the details of each floorboard and shiplap wall panel. I was able to build this entire off grid tiny house with only $3,500. The van itself cost me $1,200.
mobile Tiny house living is all about doing everything you need to do in a house, while being parked anywhere you want, without ever being noticed. Stealth Camping is honestly one of the funnest things you can do while saving a ton of money, and I honestly believe that this is the most planned out and legitimate setup on youtube.

Here's the thing though... That van cost wasnt included! The 'good' inverter ALONE IS over $100 Solar deep cycle are $700 for four! Solar panel are about $250 each. How about showing ALL the material purchase orders in the video instead of making a clickbait title? I'm currently living in the build I'm doing and just the wood used to make the build with fasteners is about $1000

@@invisigal007 they cost that much because of the nostalgia and demand at this point in the economy. I bought a vw camper for $1500 back in '91. So yeah, more it's a demand/supply situation. Mercedes has excellent Van's that start at 50k before upgrades

This will age me big time, BUT we had Home Ed, Wood Shop, Metal Shop, Mechanic Shop, Behind the Wheel Driver Ed, Photography, Pottery, Multi Media Ed, and Secretarial Ed in High School, some in Jr High as well, IN California. They also had clubs to further your skills, and seniors built a small house each year. I took all of them by the end of my senior year. I can cook, sew, make and fix furniture and cabinets, (built out my camper with my grandson), can change my vehicle lubricants, flush radiator, change breaks (which I won’t do after smashing my fingers), photography and photo printing, make my own pottery, glaze and fire, learned typesetting, 2 to 5 part carbon forms, and all kinds of things we no longer use, but I bet things are going to change to the point that it may come in handy…, Eventually earned a Bachelor in Business Administration while working clerical jobs. All FREE to students and even adults. We didn’t really know it then, but life was GOOD! 🙏🏽✌🏽💖

Well done Sir! I have been thinking of doing something similar. After watching many people's builds I have to say this build is more to my taste than most. I especially like how you kept it open feeling inside...not so much stuff reducing the already narrow dimensions but reduced length instead for a more square, open feel. One thing I did see that was a huge potential problem though...the short backsplash behind the drivers seat and no headrest on that seat means any bump from behind will whiplash the drivers skull at the neck area into the sharp, top edge of that backsplash and kill or paralyze the driver. Please keep in mind for you and your customers.

I love your videos and how you show your process. I have a suggestion to help you make more builds. You could make these builds and raffle them off. Like create a place where people can buy raffle tickets for like $20 a piece and then run that for about a month afterwards letting the computer generate winners like the top five winners where the top winner gets the van and the rest of them get cash prizes. Just a suggestion.

I am very m- press how this guy took a old van and completely stripped the inside and reconstruct like a tiny house. I love it... This guy could easily just go into his own business finding old vans and do as what he does in this video reconstruction them to a tiny house. Just amazine him having a car lot with VANS THAT ARE ALREADY BUILD LIKE HE HAS. With time, he would become a millionaire very soon. In fact his Van lot would even become a high-security top selling lot. Because so many peoples would just love to have this van and having it where peoples can afford it. They will sell faster than he can build them. Now about those big long mobile homes which are fully loaded and very nice inside is the number one of course, but unfortunately everyone cannot afford that type of mobile home even if retired.

@@iamwhoyousayiam6773 Yeah, but I'm saying they may have meant the cost of where to put it. Land costs money, haha. I agree that the cost of the container alone and fixing it would be in par with the vans (or not too far off to avoid looking into). I'm saying a van doesn't have to sit stationary on a plot of land, therefore that saved cost *is* an issue if you don't own land. I don't know if that's what they meant but merely said it could be. Depending on where you wanted to put the container and if you did or did not own the land already could be a hefty sum to consider. Then again, long-term fuel costs for the van may eclipse that anyway so...?
