With a little patience and a couple lawn equipment stores in your area you can usually find pallets made entirely from 2 by material. Alternatly, alternate the board direction three times while stagering joints and using a glue like construction adhesive to make your own "plywood ".

@@ianherp5678 Pine can endure weather conditions, yes. But it is less physically durable. It is gouged and broken easier than most hardwoods. Meaning in practical applications like this, it will need to be replaced sooner. And pallets are typically free if you just ask around.

I avoid measuring when I can, get direct markings. So in this situation, hold a board on one end of the trailer, put in one end of the angle iron, pencil from underneath, or just hit it with a hammer to make an impression. Cut shy or heavy depending on stuff like radii or fit. Check if that board will work along the whole trailer, if so- use it to mark the rest of the boards. Set up a stop if its enough boards to be worth setting it up

Most pallets here have a "pant" on them, which means, a fee is put on them, so if you give it back, you get the pant back... So pallets aren't free here... You pay extra for the pallet. The last pallets I got, had 7 dollars of pant, pr pallet.

When your trailer suspension is the floor.
@brookelord3448
@brookelord3448 3 ай бұрын
That's actually how suspensions were invented. Have you ever noticed that no suspensions are ever suspending anything? Suspended means "hanging from above." Older chariots, before the Romans built them, had a deck that was literally hanging off the frame by rope. A suspension bridge is the same thing. The original version is wood planks hanging from ropes tied to a tall post.
@rod1499
@rod1499 3 ай бұрын
@@brookelord3448 the suspension such as leaf springs do hang from the frame on shackles.
@brookelord3448
@brookelord3448 3 ай бұрын
@rod1499 only if you suspend the car by the frame, then they push the wheels down until they eventually suspend the wheels below. Otherwise, they push, they do not hang. "Connected" on the bottom is not the same as "suspended." The legs of a table are not suspended below the table. The leaf springs "provide support from below" rather than "hang from above" at any time when the wheel(s) are in contact with the ground. It's still a grammatical error even though it's NOW considered a correct statement. The suspension sort of creates "a suspension affect" as in a liquid suspension. The car frame is suspended above the ground, neither up nor down but both up and down simultaneously. An automobile or truck suspension isn't literally suspended. The vehicle is metaphorically suspended above the ground. My point has more to do with the original meaning of the word and how the meaning has become distorted over time. English is a hodge podge language where multiple languages got smashed together and illiterate people used words for centuries without the ability to find the correct meaning of those words. Now a lot of words have 2-5 definitions 😹 Language usually evolves to become simplified over time, but English is the exception to the rule. It became more complicated over time. They are sill adding more definitions to existing words today in American dictionaries, and some from decades ago have actually made it into Oxford dictionary, in the UK.
