Hand-screw clamps are an underrated tool in woodworking.
They are simple to make even with hand tools, but they are extremely versatile.
In this video I will show you how I built them and how you can use them in your workshop.
For the hardware I used simple materials that I had available, modifying them for my needs.

When I started out back in the seventies, the shop I trained in had three rolling stacks of wood jawed parallel clamps. They are still a part of my everyday work, and should be in every serious woodworkers kit.

I agree 100%. They are so versatile especially if you don't have a proper workbench with moxon vise, leg vise etc. (my case) Thanks for sharing your thoughts, I really appreciate.

I always like how you have everything all planed out with templates. Everything is meticulously thought about right down to a stand for the handles to dry on after staining. These clamps look so usefull I want to make some my self now after watching you but I know I could never do as good a job as you have. Brilliant video and great job 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Sometimes I make a simple sketch on paper, but since I work with CAD software it's easier to make an accurate drawing for me. The handle drying stand is a simple piece of scrap wood with 4 nails that I salvage when I'm done with the project. I've seen the works you do and they are certainly more complex than these clamps, I'd be amazed if you weren't able to make a couple of them. P.S. f you are lazy you can buy a special hardware set for these clamps and make the wooden part yourself. 😉

@@LTMS I know it was just a simple piece of scrap with nails but just the fact you had thought about it. I would have stained the handles and then thought oh no how can I stand this up. I might grab your drawings and give it a go when I have some time. They look like they would be very handy.
