Tip: when making a moat place the water in at one block high, and then dig down in the water to the depth you want. As long as you do the original one block deep bit right it should work perfectly. Also my brother loooves watching your videos

If you don't want the flowing water: 1. Leave the moat in its shape. 2. Place blocks to make the moat look 1 deep, even though there will be empty space under it. 3. Place all your water on those floor blocks. 4. Break those floor blocks and the water will flow down to the bottom. You get a perfectly still moat.

Wait... you shouldn’t put the water in the moat “surface level”. The enemies can just jump back on the surface. If you really want a “moat” you may need to dig deeper with two blocks above the water so the monsters don’t jump out and walk across the bridge. Sorry if that’s confusing to read.
