I realized after filming this video that the cubes I used were actually 55.5mm, not 56! That means that the 3x3's in the first tower would only be 2.55 meters (8'-4.5"), although it's still about 2.58 if you count the Christmas tree cube. This also means the final tower would actually be 5.49 meters, which is about 18 feet flat. However, I used a laser to measure the room, and it said exactly 17'-11". So it's probably a little under 18 feet, oh well.

It seems that the battle for the tallest tower has not ended, it has started.

There's definitely going to be an upper limit at some point. Something a lot of people forget about towers is that *each floor has to support the weight of every floor above it* . I'm not sure exactly what the cubes you're using weigh, but based on your "lightest cube" episodes, they weigh about 60 grams each, minimum. You can think about your tower of 98 cubes as a tower of 97 atop one foundation cube; that foundation cube has to support the weight of the 97 above it. That's nearly six kilograms your cube has to support. Clearly, it manages just fine. But if you keep building taller and taller towers, eventually, the bottom cube will collapse under the weight. I'm curious what that limit is! If you don't mind destroying a cube (or maybe even a few), you could get an estimate by stacking something much heavier on a cube; textbooks, for example. How many textbooks can you pile on a cube before it deforms or collapses?

Wow. Nice. I used to make towers of my cubes but as they were all different shapes and sizes, it wasn't very stable and it fell down and I lost some pieces from some of the cubes which were near the top of the tower. Good job.

i love how all the falling cubes' kinetic energy just makes them explode back up and another stack falls down and does the same thing

That was the most ridiculous falling of Rubik’s cubes I have ever seen. I like how a group fell out from the middle and the tower stayed intact for a second until the top part collapsed on itself, dropping on the bottom part of the tower then bouncing up like a trampoline. Very cool 👍🏻

I don’t have so may 3x3, so I used other of my 54 cubes(2x2,4x4,5x5,6x6, 7x7,square1,skewb and other non-wca puzzles) to create an about 200cm tall tower
