Joel's playing style reminds me of everyone's favourite anecdote about Greg Norman playing in a pro-am day, years ago. The businessman playing as GN's partner was angry, cursing every shot and generally being unpleasant. GN says 'How often do you play?' Angry man 'Once a fortnight', GN 'How often do you practice?', Angry man 'Don't have time, I'm a CEO', GN 'How long do you spend warming up before a game?' Angry man 'Ten minutes on the putting green'. GN 'You don't have the right to be this angry with yourself, or your game - you're just not giving yourself the chance. I spend 1.5 hours warming up before each game and practice 2 hours a day, and I still get it wrong sometimes.'
