I think when news broke of Ange's move to Spurs, Spurs got a few 100,000 extra fans in Australia. I live in Melbourne and I know his history and legacy in Soccer (as it is called in Aus). But here's the thing ... I'm a Rugby man. Ange's reputation crosses all sports in Aus. Also, I'm originally from Brisbane and what he did for Brisbane Roar defies everything. Brisbane was the epicentre of Rugby League and Rugby Union until Ange put soccer on the map in Brisbane by taking Brisbane Roar to the top. I wish the Queensland Reds RU could find such an inspirational coach. I and a few thousand Aussies will be supporting Tottenham Hotspur FC just because of Ange Postecoglou.

Big ange definitely has the media buzzing. Been a spurs and roar supporter since I started following when the A league first launched. Never thought I'd see the same Australian manager get my 2 favourite clubs but here we are. Brisbane to me despite being nrl dominated (it's my favourite sport too) the acceptance we have across our teams in different leagues is great. Everyone is buzzing in Brisbane and rooting for the other sport. Nrl fans are excited about the lions looking very strong to see Brisbane take out trophies in multiple sports this year.

Any Spurs fans who aren't on board with Big Ange, need to get with the program. The beginning will be rocky. But once the squad grasp the concept, they will be very difficult to beat. There were doubters at my club, Celtic. They wept when he left. Go get 'em, Ange.

@kentgrady9226 9 ай бұрын
@@nicoles_handle I have felt since day 1 of his appointment that Kane would be out. That doesn't make Ange finch one little bit. Spurs are selling HK for what? £90 million? Ange will pull the strings behind the signing of three players for £25 million each (of whom most Spurs fans will have never heard). Those three players will combine to exceed Kane's output (likely, by a wide margin). Mr Levy will have £15 million left over to give to other players, staff, the kit man, and the bloody bin man (as well as stuffing his own pocket). That is what Ange does. He did it at Celtic Park. He did it in Yokohama. He did it in Brisbane. FYI: he always starts rough - precisely because he tosses every shiny toy out of the pram before he gets the new ones to cooperate. But they always learn, and right quick. Get ready to sing songs in the pubs and terraces about players whose names you haven't learned yet. By March, no one in the Prem will want any part of Spurs.

@@BeatPoet67 The depth of quality is the reason I did not make bold predictions about top four placement, silverware, and deep ECL runs. There is something about him, his Aussie no bs attitude, belief in what he’s doing. He has me believing before the first real game! It’s a huge job and probably big ange’s biggest challenge because spurs have failed to win anything for so long. Hi Ange We will take the rough road, just promise us that you give your heart to the club, the way we have. Of late it was obvious some managers felt they were too big for us, but they weren’t, they just thought they were. All we want is a manager who loves the club, and only wants the best for it. That in itself will bring the playing squad along, admittedly after some fine tuning. So take the rough road and get us back on the highway to success after a year of planning the route. He will get rid of players HE thinks are no good. I say that as in the past he has kept players who other coaches would have let go and then they have delivered for him.

What a great question about keeping communication simple, because of the need to have it simultaneously translated into 3 other languages. A brilliant lesson!

Nice interview. Interesting questions re communication in Japan. Also, I'd love to think we got a "credible third place in the 2014 World Cup group of death" but we didn't. Played well but came last. Not sure it was burnout either in 2018, just finally got sick of Australian Football's total lack of ambition.

But also he didn’t mention Ange won the Asian Cup. Finishing in front of Japan and South Korea. So he won Asia’s equivalent of the Euros 👍

Absolutely! Football Australia's goal was to avoid embarrassment at the WC, while Ange's goal was to win the whole thing! Like he says, if you're not on board, then "see ya later....mate!"

Told spurs fans from the moment he joined he would blow them away, killed me when he left celtic, trust me Ange is the real deal. 111 million euros for a 30 year old who could go over on his ankle tommorow is a great deal. Kane loss wont bother ange

It's very distracting to have that Tracy Chapman album cover in the background, as it's one of the best albums ever made. As for Ange, over the moon that he's in charge of our club. Hope he gets the Centre Backs he needs for his system to work. Van de Ven is a great start, but we need more of that calibre at the back because the high line Ange employs relies heavily on the centre backs
