Growing up in the 60's in a small village un AK is was my responsibility to bake breads, cookies, and cakes and I used Betty Crocker cook books. Brings back good memories. Thank you for sharing.

Agree with you about GW. It’s definitely location based. Some people don’t know how lucky they are. Here in North Tx. terrible. At least some of the stuff in your video was in decent shape. Ours mostly broken damaged-should be in the trash stuff for high prices. Don’t understand how they even keep the doors open.

Like the clown you found we had doll faces but with a kind of jester like pointy hat and my Grandma called them yo- yo’s. She showed me how to make them. ♥️ You are correct a lot of work went into the yo- yo’s or pinwheels , I think it would be fine if it comes to it for you to repurpose them! I still have our kids Betty Crocker cook book too!

I stopped donating to Goodwill. I only donate to our local mission thrift stores. Our goodwills in Indiana are expensive!! They took away Senior and Military discounts, 50% off Saturdays and color coded discounts. I think they ship the good stuff to certain area codes or sell on line. Sad to say a lot of people who needed low cost thrifting are priced out.

The little blue jug pattern is called calico, and the blurry style is likely on purpose. Its called 'flow blue' and was intentionally made so that the blue would flow into the clear glaze. It can be really collectable. Your videos are good, you're super real and its refreshing, rude people are weird- they should get a life.

Hello Nicole, That Goodwill pricing is the exact same as our Goodwill here in Eastern Oregon. The clothing pricing starts $6.99 and up. Yes. I totally understand that your videos numbers goes down when it's nothing to do with shopping. I for one very rarely watch makeovers, redecorate hutch or flipping items. I guess I got ADHD, where I can't wait for the product to be done! Lol But I do love to watch all of your shopping, shopping hauls and your family videos!!!

I think ours now look up prices which they must not have before maybe. I heard ours is sending good things for online auction. Sad seems they found out people were buying to make some money so prices increased. Ours now mostly has junk things should have been pitched. I hardly go like I use to. You’re my favorite so please keep making even if you don’t buy as I’d miss watching you and your kiddos. Hugs from Ohio 😊

Goodwill is a long way from my house,The salvation army is high as well. The reason they are high is because everyone is buying to resell& they know it!! Try yard sales& estate sales& some salvage yards.😊

What I'd like to know is this: They call themselves Goodwill but where is the goodwill when they are gouging you with those prices? It used to be very inexpensive to shop, for lower income folks to get by. I rarely shop Goodwill. Salvation Army is getting up there too. And lots of clerks in my area act like it's a privilege to me for them to ring me up. I mean, when they see you standing wallet in hand, and they continue their conversation w/ each other. I had to ask them, " excuse me, can you cash me out"? I'm just going to church related or Hab. for Humanity, yard, estate sales. Few other independently owned thrift stores. I refuse to pay those prices, and be treated like a mangy cur! On a lighter note, I've never seen The Boys & Girls Betty Crocker book either. Looks cool!

Nicole our GW has nothing but junk no one wants. I dont donate to them anymore since I found out that they go through their shelves and toss out things to the dumpster where they get all broken .Yss their prices are off the chart for donated things. I would rather give them to someone then to GW.

I had to stop here because your story about the bingo in the back of the station waggon Rockback fantastic memories for me. Mom and dad used to take us on camping trips in a station wagon. I don’t remember what kind it was but the seats folded down so my sister and I had the whole back area to ourselves. We were just talking about this the other day because of the Barbie movie we were the moving Barbie city and boy did. We have fun on those trips..

I was groaning along with you at the prices at that Goodwill! I've noticed even some local small thrift shops have raised their prices pretty excessively...what is going on??? I am so sorry that there are people that are rude to you. You and your family are always a joy to watch! My mom made those pinwheel clowns but she always called them jingle bell jacks and the pinwheels she said were yo-yo’s. She even made a yo yo quilt! Our Goodwill stores here in Ohio have a half price color every week and that is usually what I stick to when shopping there. Love this independent thrift stores that help out a cause and do not charge near as much.

The kettle is by a Swedish designer/artist with the last name Berggren. First name Petr/Peter i think. He also has a rooster set in the same colors. Very cool vintage pieces!

I’m not finding much at Goodwill lately, even clothes. At least in Arizona we have a 20% off coupon for over $20 purchase. If you can find something! I think people are meaner nowadays, especially anonymously. I’ve heard incidents on planes are happening more often too. Anyway, enjoyed seeing your haul!
