People are forgetting that they also just learned that No. 9 can turn into a human. They don't know if Kafka is himself or a Kaiju that can transform into Kafka.

Mina was super sad doing that to Kafka and she can't make decisions like letting a Kaiju stay in the base on her own, she's just a Captain, she isn't the head of the whole organization, so she has to follow protocol.

To be fair, they know no. 8 is a 9.8 fortitude. This isn't like taking one of the things they dropped in the training ground at the beginning into custody, they know he has the power to escape if they let him recover. The fact they jump straight to custody and not execution while he's weak is a win.

8:33 ShinoMiya weapon is not fully developed its still a prototype like she said in the pervious episode when she shows up with it so it doesn't deal much damage to bigger kaiju and she cannot use the weapon to its max limits

it isn't bs, they're just following protocol, don't worry kafka isn't dying here, also I've read the manga, this is just the beginning, this is just season 1, theres likely to be a season 2 announcement. this is a shonen manga in shonen jump like one piece, and the manga is still ongoing.
