I followed Gary from Skid Row right through his entire (multifaceted) career. Easily my favourite player. His tone, feel, and touch were faultless. Still remember hearing the sad news. I was driving and had to stop the car. Was devastated and took me weeks to get over it. If you've not seen it - I bet you have though 🙂 - his version of The Stumble at Montreux 1990. Nice job, John.

Totally agree that Back to the Blues is a bit patchy - it starts off well and when it’s good it’s superb but it’s my least favourite of Gary’s blues albums.

Can’t beat a bit of Gary Moore . Unbelievable that Bonamassa fans think he’s better than Gary . Nobody played with the fire that Gary Moore did and videos like Blues For Jimi are clear evidence of that . I’ll have a stab at that solo but it may take some time 🤣

He never really "made it" in the USA, and (with no disrespect to merkins) they don't tend to look beyond their own shores. Its no surprise Gary doesn't feature on their radar.
