I like all cars from 1930 all the way to 1979. Back in the days you can tell what is what today All the cars look the same to me. I gotta say thank you for bringing this channel around. I don't have money to buy none of these cards but I like all of them.

I think my lottery car is a 54 Buick Skylark. IMO the most beautiful production car of the 50's. That being said I was born in 1956 so I like 1956 Chevy's and Studebaker Golden Hawks.

Great finds at these prices! My favorite car year is 1969. IMO, some of the best designs such as the quad head light '69 Mustangs, '69 Chevelles, '69 Camaro, '69 Roadrunner/GTX, '69 Mercury Marauder X-100; '69 Imperial LeBaron 2 dr. to name a few.🏆🏆🏆

i just love the 64 mercury with factory A/C special dashboard different from dealer installed. motors were 3902V ,4V and 427 4V or 2 4V's carbs. short nose on the car made it easy to drive. the only flaw was it was the first year for alternators and many came without fusible linksv so many burned up when a diode failed in the alternator. if you have such a vehicle check for that flaw. that car won the pikes peak climb and had a great ad telling about it! i had one and got rid of it but am looking for another. also some featured the rear breaseway window that went up and down.

Love that old Morris Minor. My Pop had a 1951, think it was, his Dad had bought new. One of my younger brothers was out in it one night, drunk, rolled it, drove it home, then asked "Do ya think Pop will notice?".…oh yeah, he noticed 😂.

I honestly can't pick just one year. I like the 70 AAR Cuda, the 27 Model T Dr's coupe, 68 Charger, 67 Belvedere, 63 Belvedere, 65/66 Mustang, 67 Ford Fairlane, 63-67 Corvette... I could go on. I'm a fan of Cars.... it's just that simple.

I suspect the automatic transmission in the 1949 Chrysler is a fluid coupling. It would allow the car to idle in gear but made for leisurely acceleration. As for favorite year I'd probably go for 1937.

My personal best was #1 👍 and my favorite year was 1958, because most of the big 3, it was a 1 off year for the most part, while they were trying to come up with something very unique for the 1959 year and into the 60's styling year

Like #41 I don't really have a favorite, but prefer 1932-1972, with some stragglers from the mid '70s through 1989. I was born in 1967 and that's the only classic I ever owned and driven - 1967 Buick Wildcat. My first car was almost a 1955 VW Beetle that I could've bought in 1982 for $500 - let it get away. The first car I drove was my ma's 1968 Olds Cutless Supreme. I also almost owned a 1959 Chevy Apache w/454 4-spd, for $2850 in 1986, but I was 19 and the guy refused to sell it to me because I'd "kill" myself. I hate sensors and computers, so older is better.

The '42 two door sings to me. I owned and drove a 1942 Plymouth Deluxe Coupe when I was in HS (grad class of '73). I still have a soft spot for the 1942-1948 Plymouths. (Sigh!) Just try to find rear brake drums for one! (They are splined onto thee rear axles!) Anything pre-1960 is awesome!! Especially the Studes, Willyses and Hudsons. (And it is pronounced Will' - iss. NOT Will' - eeze! Even though John Willys didn't care how you pronounced his name as if you bought one of his cars. ) 😉

My favorites of these are the Hudson Essex Super Six; the Morris Minor Woody Wagon and the '42 Plymouth. My grandparents when young, I heard, had an Essex. Ten years before I was born my parents had an old '38 Buick: their 1st car, in the late '40's-early '50's. Mom said it drank a quart of oil every 100 miles. Dad carried a case of oil.

That 49 Chrysler had their "semi" automatic trans (as evident in the interior pic showing the clutch pedal). The clutch was used to select gear range low, or high. Depress clutch, move column shifter up (to where second would be on a regular three on the tree) for low range, or down (3rd gear spot on the regular 3 on tree) for high range. Reverse was in normal spot same as a standard 3 on tree. Once under way, there was no need to use the clutch again, even to stop, although rolling away from a stop in high range was sluggish at best. Each range had 2 gears. Upon starting in either range, you wound 'er up, let off the gas and it would slowly clunk into the higher gear. Interesting fact: Reverse had to same low/high gearing as the other two ranges......45 in reverse is a bit strange though, don't make any sharp turns LOL I had two Chryslers with this tranny, a 41 Saratoga club coupe, 6 banger, earlier I had a 51 with the first gen hemi with this tranny. I would take off in low range, wind her out, then slam it into high range (3rd), it moved out pretty decent for a solid steel battlewagon LOL

BTW, I paid $85 for that 51 Chrysler in 1964, which when you factor in inflation, is about $750 in 2023 dollars.

Awesome vid as usual my friend....absolutely loved #1-3-6-7 and 8...(next to AMC, I'm a Dodge/Plymouth/Chrysler car guy, and a Ford, D-P&C, and International trucks)... I can see I might needs to take a slow ride down into your South, from way up here, in the Great White North of southern Ontario, Canada....🍁🍁...Peace out brother...oh ya, and my favorite year of automobile isn't just one...1958 for the Cheverolet Biscayne, Impala, Belair and Del Ray, 63-67 for the AMC Rambler Classic 440-550-66-770 series, 71-84 For Camaros/Firebirds, any Mopar product after 1940, and any of the hot roddable Fords ....but I'd take any 1964/65 Rambler Classic 550/660 station wagon, 2-dr, or 4-dr sedan over any or them...lol...so,long post even longer....it don't really matter the car, or the year...just love'em all!

Don’t look at the purchase price but consider the cost to fix and the problem finding parts- some parts for obscure cars cannot be found- the cost of a quality body work and paint job can be north of 10,000 dollars even for a car still worth 5,000

correct it had a clutch and a torqeconvertor that allowed it to stop in gear and not shudder. it had 10 wt non detergent oil like tractors have and it was similar to 3 on the tree shift linkage. 90% percent of the driving can be done in high gear which had two ranges controlled by a electric solinoid and a low gear with two ranges. of course there was a reverse and neutral position. great car as i have a 50 chrysler that cruises at 60-65 on radial tires. just does not have a/c or power steering.

I have a 3 way tie for my favorite year of cars honestly, because you gotta look at the cars as a whole, in Chronological order 1957- that's when the car industry as a whole finally got it right across the board, whether it was a Chevy, Ford, Dodge, Packard, Buick and so on, they were all just right. 1968- This was in most people's opinion the height of the auto industry because all of the Big 4 (AMC included) were knee deep and all in and heavily competing on every type of racing from Nascar to Indy Car to Trans-am to Rally car and it reflected in the cars they were building. 2010- This was the year of the "rebirth" of muscle with Ford having the "Retro" Mustang, Dodge with the "Retro" Challenger and Chevy bringing back the "retro" Camaro", I'm not generally into new/newer cars but 2010 was a great year for the car industry and us car guys. Just a bit of trivia info, The 1951 Studebaker coupe like #8 on the list was the car that Walt Disney based his cartoon car off of during the 50's and up until he died in 1966. Idk how true the story is but supposedly while he looking for cars to to draw up to put in his movies and cartoons his personal secretary Anna pulled up in her brand new car, which was a 1951 Studebaker Coupe and he rushed outside to go look at it and he went back in his office and sketched it up real quick and it became THE CAR.
