He wasn't making fun of himself, he was finally letting go of all the pain and suffering he'd been holding on to for so long. Finally forgiving his mom. Having a kid changed his life and made him see that there is something to live for, someone to live for. He finally allowed God to clean up his mind and heart. Depression is real and it's a fight. He said the 30 years line at the end 31 times because he just turned 31. So it was 30 years of old NF, depression, pain, suffering, no hope in sight but year 31 is a new light, a new chapter, a new start. NF is hands down the G.O.A.T.

This song pushed me over the edge from defeating my depression. I'm almost 50 and for 36 years I've been in therapy. It was the end of the song with the 30 years of just made me breakdown and it's time to let go of the darkness. Then I heard "Running" which is the last song on Hope, that one cemented my turn around. Thanks to NF and Ren, I've been happy for the past 6 to 7 months with hardly any depression.

That's fucking beautiful, beyond beautiful. You deserve every ounce of happiness you've found and I promise there is more out there for you. Never quit, there will be bad days, bad weeks, maybe even bad years, but don't give up on yourself. Just come back to the art that makes you feel alive. Love you brother, much love 🙏

I highly suggest watching most of his Music Videos in order. They basically tell a story and Hope was in my opinion suppose to be the ending of his search for Hope. The other music videos will also tell you about who the other 'selfs" were. I.E Depression | Anger | Fear

His “brooding, black persona” is not something just for his music or him to get famous or something that most musicians nowadays putting on. This is a reflection of his music, and his music reflects what’s he’s going through, all the baggages that he’s carrying is bleeding off from his music, his songs. I never thought that being “serious” is something off-putting. He is literally singing/rapping his heart out, what most of us going through and relate to him, him being “serious” and being REAL is what makes him standout, which is very rare for a musician nowadays, from the ocean of sex, money, drugs, bitc**s, swearings fortunately we have NF.
@AB515-wx8eb2 ай бұрын
been an NF fan for so long and this song just gave me another reason to love him. He is one of the only artists I know who has character development. That alone makes him amazing.

If you didn't notice, he was holding the Map to Hope. A things he's mentioned in a previous song.

Wasn’t making fun of himself. He realized there’s so much more to life, and he’s releasing all the fear and pain and anger he’s been living in. He wants to live life to the fullest and change from hopeless to hopeful. It’s brilliant.
@xeroclan95955 ай бұрын
He's not making fun of himself. I physically cringed when you said that. He's not making a mockery of his older self: he's turning *into* a *new* NF. C'mon, dude.
@theg.o.a.t.37216 ай бұрын
At 6:05 when you said "was that a music video or a movie" I literally thought of that same exact line in the search!!
@danrandall37727 ай бұрын
It's not him poking fun at his old self. It's more about his "real" journey with his mental health and how he has grown . You can follow his progression from album to album. When his mix tape came out and even slightly before that you could see everything lining up to come out with a much more positive outtake in life in general. His connection with his fans and being that voice for those that can't or don't know how to put into words the troubles they may be experiencing and more importantly how to push past those negative thoughts that their are people all over with similar problems. Even you where talking about how dark his music is but you can go back all the way to therapy session and even before even with it's dark "atmosphere the underlying message was in achieving a positive attitude and mental health.

The way he shows he's evolving and growing. Letting go of past pain and troubles yet they keep trying to creep back into his mind. When he says the 30 years lines he says 30 years 30 times.

I cry a little everytime I listen to this song....I have gone through hell in life, and when I needed to move on and pick myself up, he came out with this song....He isn't making "fun" of himself. He's in a battle with himself. The part of him that wants to keep him down. The part of him that won't let him heal. I fight myself every day and he has helped me find my footing and I can't even begin to explain how much this dude means to me.

He was not taking himself too seriously. The whole albums, timeline and adding to that the videos and which songs he has picked to make a video from it, is the clear process of healing and how his life have been a process of learning, forgiving, moving forward not by just doing it, doing it with the intention of being better for him and his beloved ones :).

His whole life is in his music, listen to the lyrics of his music, he’s not making fun of himself, he’s finally letting go of this burden that’s been on him for 30 years, his music is how he expresses his feelings. This isn’t an act or a masquerade, it’s real for him and so many others who have gone through tough situations in their life. To me this song tells me that NF became happy, and one day I could reach it too.

Man, that was fun watching his video and someone seeing it for the first time. Yeah, I think we stopped it like 10 times and then watched it all the way through at the beginning. It's like a movie so he wasn't wrong. He's uber talented in various areas so wonder what his next project will be. He doesn't love touring for himself, as we all know, but enjoys doing it for his fans. And we just take a minute to acknowledge how beautiful it is to see (most of) his fans cheer him on in this new phase of hopeful living he is in. Praise The Lord for his getting back to a faith and fulfilled headspace. Now, this video makes me want to sit and watch a bunch more of his stuff and reaction videos. He is the real deal, doing the real thing, and being the real NF!
