Hi Dev. I've watched your videos for several years now, and you do a great job. Always entertaining and relatable. I'm 69 now, and have two sons, 41 and 37. We made at least 50 trips to WDW over the years. I'm no "show off" either, but I have to preface this by saying that we could still afford to go several times a year, take the family, and stay a week at a time in a Disney resort, but....we aren't going. We haven't gone in quite a few years. We absolutely refuse to go and have stressful planning, be on our phones all day fighting for a space in line, and be packed in like sardines the whole time. We had the glory days with our family! Memories we'll never forget. Back then we paid a reasonable entrance fee, and had the magical times of our lives in those parks... doing whatever we wanted all day and all night long. The magic was real. I miss it. But what I see now doesn't feel like a vacation to me. It feels like work. Do what makes you happy, Dev, and the content will follow right along. I'll be here watching. All the best.

Thanks for being honest Dev. My husband and I are huge lifetime Disney fans, we actually got married there last year. We just purchased a 2 day pass for us and we paid $442 each!! With the Canadian exchange rate it is becoming something we can’t afford. We are now going for a week and not even able to go to the park every day when we are there.

My boyfriend an I were there in February of this year. We were there for 4 nights at the cheapest hotel and 3 park days with park hours. In canadian it came to over $2000. This didn't include flights or the food costs down there. It's just too much for us to go now.

Sometimes I feel like people forget that we're all just trying to live our life. We each live a different life and we might experience something that may be able to help another person along the way. This is why we come to your Channel. No one's only here for Disney content or Universal content. We're here to see someone else experiencing life in a different way that we might never get the chance to. And like you said, one of your subscribers might have learned something from their experience that they have no problem helping you with.

I totally with you on this one. A few vloggers and yourself look and feel burned out from Disney. I have seen vloggers go on cruises to keep the hype up for Disney. I can work three months of OT and pay cash for a 7-night stay at Universal at Cabana Bay. That includes my tickets for all three parks. For Disney, I have to save up for at least two years to keep up with the price increases on everything. It’s frustrating. I get exhausted just planning the trip or thinking about what changes are coming down the pike. And yes I’m here to see you and the family! Finally, someone who says it for what it is and not sugarcoat anything! I agree with you 100% about how Disney is dying and I'm glad that you're actually speaking up about this and showing your frustration. I came here with my fiance in the beginning of August (the first time in 5 years) and it was such a bummer. Attractions are terrible, food is terrible, and the atmosphere was unusually dead. I don't know if it was the weekday crowds or students just went back to school, but everything was nearly a walk on. I've never seen anything like it and oddly enough, I wish the crowd levels were bigger. It just didn't feel "magical" like it use to when I was a teenager when it was more crowded. The vibe was completely off.

Sadly, like you, many adults come to realize their jobs are the same routine, day in and day out. Adulting is tough. You are lucky you do have a following and have flexibility to go in another direction with your vlogs. I like that you appreciate viewers who are interested in your day to day life with Bianca. Maybe take a dance class together. Or take hikes, enjoy nature. Or a cooking class, or test recipes pitched by local grocery store brochure. Maybe learn a maintenance skill together, seriously my H & I have been married 40 years next year but only recently have we used You Tube videos to fix our car and electric dryer. Don’t blame Disney regarding rising costs, lots of people work there at relatively low pay, Disney has recently raised hourly wages. All that magic costs a lot of money to produce. Yes, your routine is the same routine, day in, and day out, but Disney World is a Small World after all. Yes, people want change but they also want it to stay the same.

You know what you are honestly right on base here. I had set up for a vacation for my daughter and myself only for this upcoming February as she's turning 13 and it was priced at about $3,200 for five nights and 6 days. This is staying at the Riverside Royal rooms. Today I looked at dates again and played around with a couple of weeks ahead of that to see if the discounts would still apply because there are sales going on right now but it jumped up over $600 just for a matter of 2 weeks difference with no other changes in my reservations. When I look at that, all I see is intense greed and a shutting of a door because why would I want to pay that whenever I'm not getting a top dollar experience. It still Disney, yes of course and I love Disney but I do not love being taken advantage of and right now that's exactly what's happening.

Completely normal to feel this way. Disney is in a really bad position at the moment and still trying to reinvent themselves. We've had to adjust our Disney trips and try to pick and choose the best things we like to do. We recently went on our first Disney cruise and felt like the value, service and experience was top notch. Their hotels also continue to provide Amazing devices and experiences. The theme parks are lacking new experiences and are definitely overpriced.

The cast members for the Disney cruises and resorts are super! Perhaps that is a bit of the redeeming value as far as going on a Disney cruise and staying at a Disney resort hotel. Cruises of course offer all inclusive vacation perks with food, room and lots of fun onboard events for all ages and some drinks. I could see going on a Disney Cruise over going to one of the parks! The Disney staff on board the Disney cruise ships go over and above and bring the Disney magic!

Hi Dev! What a fascinating video. I had no idea you were only 29!! I have twins that are about to turn 31 - I hear a lot of the same questioning in your voice that I hear in theirs. The 30's are the toughest decade of adulthood IMHO. Hang in there, you are doing quite well for 29. As far as content goes, I have been to the Orlando area a dozen or so times since my twins were about 10, there is a lot of cool stuff to do and see in the area. I think it would be cool to have your viewers experience your favorites and hear how you would 'do' Orlando without Disney. Our personal favorite way to 'do' Orlando is to rent a house, rent a car, do parks with a break and see some sights, eat local, etc...maybe even a road trip to the gulf coast. Show the folks watching that you can have a great longer vacation for a lot less money if the theme parks are just a 1 day multi-park ticket mixed in with other cool stuff to do :-) I think a lot of people would be interested in that.

We search for things that give momentary “happiness.” He suggested I should strive to find “contentment” instead. I’m with you on backing away from Disney. I’m hearing how discontented you are with the road Disney has taken. It hurts my heart that as a senior citizen on a fixed income that I will probably never again afford to visit the parks. The cost of living has increased to the point where I would need to use credit cards & then pay on the balances for the next years. It isn’t worth it. We have not been back for almost 4 years now and we are planning a trip there in Nov and it will probably be our last! We are DVC members, and it saddens me that we invested in being a member only to feel like we are not welcome! When they always tell us "WELCOME HOME"! We don't feel welcome anymore! When we come it's always a party of 12! So you already know it's a small fortune, and it takes the fun out of it! So I totally agree with you 100%! Thank you for being honest and keeping things real! Good for you man. We were at Disney for 2 weeks this month after saving for 4 years. Coming over from the UK has always been expensive, but I was shocked at how different the parks were. We went to the Halloween event last year in September, they didn't have the special Zero popcorn bucket until October, and we were annoyed by that fact. This year we went in October, only to find out the special Mayor popcorn bucket had been sold out in September. Why the heck do they have a special event item that they don't stock enough of for the whole event? It's made us decide not to bother going again next year.

I'm 26 who use to be a big Disney head. The theme parks are honestly a huge disappointment as you grow up and is really geared towards kids/young families. None of the attractions are thrilling whatsoever besides maybe 5 across all 4 parks Orlando parks. Not even Rise of the Resistance, Space Mountain, Tron, Everest, Seven Dwarves, etc. For the price $150-175/day for a daily ticket, you might as well just go to Universal which is 20x more fun especially if you're someone who loves thrill. Plus you're only paying $80-110/day including park-to-park.Then you think about the prices for food (which is extremely underwhelming especially as a foodie from NYC) and the crazy prices for merch at Disney (not that I buy) and you really start to think about every little thing you spend money on. All I can say is that I don't ever plan on coming back here ever until I maybe I have kids and that's a huge IF. I do plan on making my annual/biennial trip to Universal still.

That's exactly how I feel also. I'm 29 and usually go every year/2 for Food and Wine, Flower and Garden, and Not so Scary and I believe this year was my last year as well. As you said, the food is honestly not great and the food portions are bite sized, yet they charge like $8-13 for everything. Combined with the costs of entry, long lines, breakdowns/rain delays, etc. and you start to realize how much of a scam it feels like. It is what it is, but my gf and I are sick of Disney too. Universal is 10000 times better.

Everything is expensive. Disney gets all the media attention because its Disney. But Universal, movie theatres, sporting events, concerts etc, are all very expensive. Parking at SoFi stadium in LA for football games is $104! Just to freakin park! A large popcorn and soda at my local movie theatre is $25.00. An individual pizza and side salad at Universal is $17.09, at Disney its $12.79. Universal raised AP prices earlier this year, where are all the whining and complaints about that? I don't like price increases either and I do not like the corporate politics at Disney right now either. But everyone needs a reality check that high pricing is not just limited to Disney. Let's all see how much Universal raises prices when Epic opens.

We're ready now to go again and we think we might have found a few ways to save and it's made it fun to plan again for me. No, our trips are not going to be the same 4 day park, stay on property trips anymore but there are still things we enjoy about a Disney trip. Life is ever changing and right now things are very tough all the way around. Take a break from Disney, it is quite refreshing to rediscover what and why you loved the parks so much. Dev…you need some Dad advice. So I am a older guy and spent my life in business. When you build a channel or a business you CANNOT change your customers (who come for Disney) In business companies don’t change their customers….their customers change the business. You have to be smart enough to listen to your customers. If you do reinvent your channel and retain most of your subs it would be nothing short of a miracle. I suggest you don’t do this. We have met you lots of times. We watch all your videos. You have helped our little channel. We care about you and your family. I think you should find a way you can do Disney content, rethink this.
