Thanks for the enthusiastic reaction :) As you have already seen in many comments, this song was the favorite of the late Ann Waychoff, an elderly lady from Pennsylvania, who dedicated the last years of her life to the promotion of Nightwish, the band she loved. Ann used to welcome the new reactors with a short history of the band and some kind words. Often, she recommends this song for a future reaction. Thanks to her tactful and diplomatic approaches, Ann managed to gather around her a large group of fans, being like an island of peace in the middle of the conflicts that often appeared. When Ann was hospitalized and could no longer meet the new reactors, I started posting the band history comment on her behalf, because the impact of her message was and is positive, helping the reactors understand that what they are listening to now it has behind it a musical evolution of more than a quarter of a century 🤘

One thing most people don't notice is how tuned in Floor is to the shots and band. She knows every hit and rhythm. She is just as precise rhythmically as the rest of the band. And the verses in this song are in 7/4. And reminds me of Carmina Berana.

No 2 in my favourites list. Marco is superb - I love his second entry (the rising gliss) so much I extracted it and have it as my ringtone. Favourite parts: Piano Black , and particularly the best description of depression I've heard - "sometimes the within is piano black". Piano black - that deep glossy black that almost evades the eye. Emppu holding that long note one-handed as he drinks a Corona. The unexpected pauses (rests) towards the end, particularly, in this performance, when Floor turns her hands upwards and the flames seem to come from her palms. Great chuggy rhythms in the breakdown. Little pizzicato string sections in the run-up to that ending. At the end the lead vocals use the same lyrics as the choir are singing in the earlier parts - "All that great heart lying still and slowly dying All that great heart lying still on an angelwing". That lyric is perfect for the staccato rhythm. ...and lots more

And I am THAT guy in a Nightwish concert. Im just paralyzed to take in everything i hear and see - dont want to create any kind of disturbance to fully immerse in to the athmosphere they create. I would propably stop breathing if it wasnt neccesarry to see the rest of the show.. So to me its certainly not lack of enthusiasm - its just total concentration and clearing my mind to get absorbed to their show. One reason being the stage presense of the band and production on stage - there is more than "just" the music to soak in.
