My mk1 Renault Twingo, also known as the blu, is what I like to call a dubious little munchkin. Which is something I’ve learned first-hand as the more I work on it the more things I find that need work.
The goal is still to get it on the road and daily drive it and so with hopefully fixing everything on the engine and the suspension we are slowly getting there. But there are still some more and some less important components that need to be checked.

My family loved twingos, we had the yellow, the grey and the red one, they're really good cars actually, you can fit craploads of things in these little suckers. The plastics would crack and vibrate from every direction inside the car but that's what gave them some charm i guess. Also, at some point, everything started to break on them lol. And when I say that, I also have to add my dad was a mechanic at Renault for more than 20 years and he had the good idea to stock up on twingo parts while he was in activity. We also had problems with the red one wich had the 16v engine, it was running on 3 cylinders like your green one, my father had to get into the engine to change valves that were melted.

A little tip for those teflon knob things on the window mechanism: You can slide them into the rail on the window from the side instead of violently snapping them in like that.

I love your videos and I genuinely love sooo much the Twingo, my family had one when I was a kid and now I have one of my own and I love it sooooo much, I don´t really understand how is it that in europe the Twingo seems to be consistently unreliable, here in Colombia (South America, in case you are wandering) the twingo and specially the Twingo engine seems to be something that is hard to kill, mine had a horrible previous owner, there were soooooooooo many things wrong with the car just because that person was super cheap and didn´t spend anything more than fuel and oil, at least, but even with so much disregard the car continue to work and now that I have it and I am trying to fix every little thing it continues to work even better, I wish you keep it and keep working on it and bringing us these lovely videos :D thanks so much and please treat the Twingo right, it is an honest little machine :D

Those cars are great. I m always dumbfounded when people say these are unreliable mess. These are almost 40yo econocar of course a few things needs tlc. In france ive met several pro mechanics using them daily because these are inexpensive reliable and simple to maintain. Obviously the look is amazing. I remember when i was a little kid i wasnt liking the goofy light but hey that was the bbest part about the design 35 years later.
