He was somehow a computer tech that would work to help them sound great in concert. So I'm sure he influences there sound to mimic quality. I guess the gentleman said that his brother got ill and had to quit. I ask him like for there singing , he said yeah to make them sound great. So I was dumbfounded ..this guy was in his 80's and this conversation was in Souttexas. So there age and how computer can do all kinds of things , I would believe they need help for concert tours.

Few front-men displays the kind of live raw energy as Mick Jagger. Or as Andy casually referred to him... "the singer"😳 It is largely why they still sell out stadiums in 2019 - 54 yrs after the release of Satisfaction. Can't begin to tell you how huge this song was that summer. Even crossed over to R&B radio in Chicago. It was the song that for me at least, put them on the map. You should check out "Miss You" by them.

@@flubblert also because in those early days they'd just do 20-minute sets in which they couldn't really hear themselves, so he didn't have time for theatrics. Mick had to concentrate to stay in synch with the band. What you don't see in this clip is later in the concert when many fans invaded the stage, grabbing all of the band members. Charlie just kept playing through al the chaos.

I WAS THERE!!!! This was my first concert (yes I'm that old kiddies). In the audience the non-stop screaming of the girls resembled closely the noise of a jet plane... unrelenting. All the instruments went through just the small amps on stage & I believe Jagger's vocals were piped through the theatre's PA. Basically we heard: ROAR - Bass riffs/drums - & some dim assorted music bits/vocals occasionally. My 8yo brother & I had to stand on our seats the entire time. Satisfaction had just been released in Europe, the Stones were mostly a blues/R&B band till this moment. My parents, who weren't there, had no idea what they bought tickets for!

I agree 100 percent! Listen to those lyrics. The Stones were rebels all the way. Your parents loved the clean cut Beatles, but they hated the "Bad Boys' The Rollng Stones. Especially if you had a daughter. In their 70s, and still selling out venues to this day. Unbelievable. I'm beginning to wonder if Mick and the Boys, are human.

This is what you need to understand regarding Beatles vs Stones: if you were growing up in the 60's. The Beatles were GOOD and clean and safe and nice, the Stones were BAD, dangerous, scary. I was a little girl in the 60's. And the Stones scared me. As an adult I love and appreciate them, but not when I first heard them. The Rolling Stones have drawn massive audiences all over the world. They have had crowds of over a million people on the beaches in South America. Have followed the Stones since 1964 when I was 12 years old. Charlie inspired me to become a drummer starting when I was 13. I drummed in bands for almost 4 decades. Love the stones all the way to my grave!,

Hey A&A, heres a fun little fact for ya: Mick Jagger said that the Stones were playing a gig in the early days, and they had to go on stage right after Little Richard. Mick couldn't believe how Little Richard danced and moved around like he was on fire, and the crowd was going nuts. So Mick decided right then and there to make his own moves, which really wasn't the Stones m.o. at the time. The band didnt know wtf Mick was doing! But the crowd loved it and the rest is history. Cheers, have a great weekend and thanks again.❤

As Keith tells it in his book "LIFE", the horn part that he heard when he woke up, he recorded it on a really cheap transistorized tape recorder at home, hence the distortion fuzz, as "bookmarks", as it were, to indicate where the horn parts should be. He dropped it off at the studio that day but didn't stick around. The FIRST time he heard the tune again was on the radio! When Mick and the engineers heard Keiths quick and dirty recording of it they thought "that sounds great just as is", and mixed it in. Afterward, the Stones didn't play Satisfaction live for years because they didn't think they could replicate that sound.

To elaborate on the origin story, as told by Keith in the Warner Brothers' "History Of Rock And Roll"...Keith kept a tape recorder by his bed. He woke up in the morning and noticed that the tape had run out. He played it back and didn't even remember recording it. I don't know about the horn line thing....I've never heard that before...could be true. But I do know the famous guitar riff was recorded with an acoustic guitar going through an amp...not an electric guitar with a fuzz box. And I hope you asked the Rolling Stones' "people" for money. Keith won't even leave his house without getting paid. ; )

Congratulations, I'm not surprised the Stones team contacted you, it's probably because of your enthusiasm and ability to listen intensely and to make fair comments. I know that Satisfaction (the studio version) isn't your favourite Stones track, but you had to be there when it was released. I was 14 years old at the time and this song was revolutionary, it wasn't like anything that had been released before, and it spoke directly to teenagers at the time, succinctly echoing that confusion you have when a teenager. Satisfaction was far more dangerous than anything The Beatles had produced up until them (and I also love the Fab Four). For teenagers then radio was our greatest influence, and Satisfaction blew those small speakers apart. It was a mixture of angst, frustration, sexual dissatisfaction which commenced with, arguably, the greatest riff of all time. That opening fuzz-boxed riff cut through absolutely everything and grabbed your attention. I have heard/seen this song performed thousands of times in those 55 years and it still takes me back to 1965. The Stones are my band. I love hundreds of others, from all eras, thanks to sharing a love of music with my son, but The Stones are No. 1 for me - all because of Satisfaction.

Congrats on the recognition by the Stones team. Just shows the quality and insightfulness of your reactions. Anyway I was 14 when this song came out in the summer of 65 and remember distinctly hearing that riff for the first time as a magical feeling an eye opener. Probably one of the first or the first hard rock songs so the sound was revolutionary.
