Bukayo Saka was named UEFA star of the match after England beat the Czech Republic on Tuesday night. Gareth Southgate has praised the Arsenal player and says he always planned to feature the 19-year-old.

The amount of salty ENGLISH Fans that were hating on Saka before he kicked a ball is Disgusting. In 45mins he played netter then Mount and Foden. Real fans know what he is capable of I would start him at number 10 next game no doubt. Very happy he shut the whole of twitter down 🙏 🙏 🙏

Yeah there literally is no rush to play the likes of Saka and Sancho. They will undoubtedly have a huge role to play in the English national team over the next 10 or more years. I'd like to see them play right now, but if Southgate thinks differently I won't complain too much.

@@beno1129 He's young, capable and bursting with energy. There is a level of having to protect as a manager in a big game because if something goes wrong it can knock hisconfidence in the long run. Especially against very good teams. I wouldn't be surprised to see him start but as long as he's surrounded by seniors on the pitch for guidance and support

The players who took the penalty first should have gone last due to the fact of experience. Saka played well and he was pulled by his shirt 👕 to the ground and no one says anything and he carried on playing. His not the first to miss a penalty and he will not be the last . The England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 team worked and played very well people stop looking at the negative. You should support the team not only when things are great but always . Big well done to the team.

Exactly. I thought they have already qualified, and then playing a team like Czech (sorry if I am rude to them), England should push its attacking power to the full for a test. For the rest of the Euros, they will never get a chance like this again to find out what is their capability.

@@dadt8009 true. They should have gone all out yesterday. Like you take out any attacker, and you'll get a good enough substitute in his place. Just play a bit more of attacking football rather than just passing around in the back. 😑

We have played arguable the best football we have played for a long time and kept three clean sheets in a row, with a comfortable win over a team like Croatia without letting them score. So I think as England fans we have a lot to look forward to

@@srujanks4 I know we aren’t scoring three or four a game like France and that but we haven’t conceded a single goal and have been defending brilliantly, if we play a back 5 then have Saka, grealish, rice Kane and sterling that would be a solid team to play against them and we could be in for a chance

To me Spain and England are both super hyped teams. Specially England. Hyped but they don’t seem to score goals. Not sure what happens to them. I hope they find a different gear and start to score; but they will not beat the Italians, French or Germans playing like they are.

You are right, to many balls going backwards. Spain are guilty of this also, but a good 5-0 win tonight. More pace is needed by England, they have the players with the skill now to take on any team. They have to believe, and they have to be more positive.

I think what you might find with Grealish is, he’s only played 90 minutes twice in the last 3 months, so he’s not really match fit at the moment, I think if he starts it will be as an impact player, either starting or coming on after an hour...

Southgate has said he’s big on attitude. I reckon it’s something to do with that in training, too much messing around or something. Pure speculation of course, but its not because of ability Sancho has that in spades. He made it very clear that’s it was Saka’s attitude in training that earned him a start.

@@ollieo7038 No, of course not. I think England are better off with a fluid front 4, with no set positions, which is why I'd have Sancho replace Kane. He's slowed down the attack at times IMO, and he's just not been able to get involved. I think Sterling, Grealish and Saka have all justified starting, but Sancho needs to play as well.
