I forget about how much of a gamer fruit can be. Like its actually impressive how quickly he picked up a good sense of the game. Would love a sekiro replay, hopefully this time you channel can survive it (I watched that series and eagerly awaited every new episode).

Funnily enough, there's a co-op mod that allows you to play with friends now that you've beaten the game. It's probably some of the most fun with my friends I've ever had. Most of the bosses are more fun with an extra person, and each person can spec into different party roles like tank, dps, etc.

I happy you’ve joined us In the experience that is souls games. When I first got into them I wasn’t very into them because I wasn’t particularly good and I didn’t like losing again and again so I just accepted souls games weren’t for me. But eventually I beat Dark souls’ 1s boss “Oranstien and Smough” (I think that’s how you spell it) anyway they are considered to be one of the hardest bosses in the game barring the DLC. It was invigorating and gave me a lot of joy for having accomplished it. From there I started playing the other games to seek that feeling, and even though there were some dark times I managed to beat most of them. It was a helluva ride and I got better. It’s worth it to see the awesome enemies and cool builds. Though every first playthrough I’ve ever done has always been a strength build.

17:00 Important distinction: Enemies don't input read, they animation read. They don't read button presses, rather they react to the start of certain animations that are tied to things like healing items and throwing weapons or magic casts to dodge or heal or parry or trigger special animations like the Tree Sentinel's magic reflecting shield. This means that they respond to queued inputs later and can be baited into things if you know you'll be safe from their punish or response, like for example using a throwing knife to bait a dodge so you can use a stronger magic cast before they're able to dodge again. Fromsoft has been doing this since at least Dark Souls 1, certain speedrun strats use moss clumps to bait parryable attacks, but it's technically not super cheating since they read the animation which is visual input (they do it frame one, sure, but not before it starts)

Idk if youll ever see this msg but i just wanted to let you know that this run has been such a wild and fun ride and i enjoyed every minute of it when you streamed it on twitch. To see you struggle with the controls to beating Malenia, it was an honor to be apart of it. So many good moments, you bashing your head agaisnt the tree sentinel, getting absolutely demolished by that random rune bear in that cave in caelid, and obviously seeing you beat malenia, chat was popping off! Even chat had a small moment where we had someone called Ryder (who was usually good at not backseating), backseated fruit accidentally and basically got called out by him. Both the chat and mods felt bad and at the same time made fun of em (sorry Ryder). Moments like that makes me feel closer to fruit nation as a whole. But yeah, love you fruit. Keep doing you, thanks for being apart of my routine everytime you upload and thank you for playing my favourite game. I'll always continue to watch your videos and try to catch one of your streams as it always brightens up my day!

Loved the format of this video. Your Sekiro playthrough is still one of my favorite experiences from way back when, so it was fun to watch you tackle this one, even in a more compressed form!

If you ever fight Malenia again, you can completely avoid Waterfowl. For the first two volleys, you need to be SPRINTING away from her, create as much as distance as possible. For the third volley, dodge directly at her, right under her feet and just keep running for the final strikes to fizzle. Works 80% of the time, every time. When are you doing RUST again?

Mr. Fruit is such a gamer! He struggled a lot less than me, who played every major Souls and Souls-like game. Except for Malenia… ain’t nobody got time for 180 tries. After 50 tries, I just equipped a shield and tanked the waterfowl dance.

Gratz on beating Elden Ring Mr. Fruit. I mostly play melee as well with some magic mixed in as well. Most of the magic I use is incantations with healing and buff magic for most of the time with some combat incantations added in when a boss is just that big and easy to hit. I also generally tend to not use summons all that much either other than the most pain in the most pain in the butt boss fights that have more than one enemy fighting together. My first playthrough was just looking up things to find out if anything I missed in an area when I went into a new area and then I went back to the area I thought I just finished to do everything there. I did not look up boss strategies though, so I did those blind as the main part of doing a souls game is to do it blind on the boss fights at the very least. Malenia was definitely the most painful though and the boss I remembered fondly when I finally beat her solo. I had to bounce back and forth from leveling up some more to doing attempts on her.

Loving that I can get to see this, work gets in the way of catching streams
