I personally deactivated my booksy account for same reasons. I had 136 five star reviews and my account was basically on the bottom because I don’t have boost on. Also whenever I did have boost on they would charge me for referral clients even tho they weren’t from boost. Booksy has turn into the biggest scam ever. Everything you have said is true and I realized how greedy they have gotten. I switched to square to make appointments and have my own website. Best decision I have made.

You have to tell your clients that give referrals this, when you sign up using the Booksy app and they ask the question "have you used this barber before" they must say yes and Booksy will not charge it as a boost client

Thanks for sharing his. I have been getting nickled and dimed with Fresha over the past year and their platform is no longer as "free" as they advertise. It sounds like Booksy won't be much better.

I know someone that’s dealing with this… also he feels Booksy taking more money then they should and when he don’t boost the people won’t come…. That’s sad😢 he’s also a new barber in a new city

30% for the first visit only ,after future vidits is all your profit and I only pay the 30 p/m to have a team marketing behing me. I do have a problem with the way the charge and mixing my own clients with new first time clients and charging for it.

wow had no idea booksy is was doing all that. We use booksy at our shop but have never used boost and have only have had problems with the way they handle their no show/ cancellation policy. A new customer who inputs and creates their own appointment is the only customer that will get charged. also they dont check the card so i have a problem with even some new customers using tempory card numbers to get out of the charge. I have almost 90% all returning and most of them prebook with me and almost everytime one them no shows booksy cant charge their card and i then i have contact the client to get my money. I have talked to booksy and told me they know it works like this. super fustrating.

I’m not sure why they haven’t fixed that. People can book appointments with fake cards and we can’t charge them if they no show smh 🤦🏾‍♂️

EXACTLY!!! This has happened to me plenty of times! I don’t get how they don’t know what cards work and which don’t! What they say is, I have to set my appointments to confirm automatically for that to happen which is ridiculous!

I have Booksy because I was transitioned from Genbook with over 700 reviews. The reason I'm staying is because I cannot find a platform to transfer my reviews to theirs to replace Booksy. I am curious has anyone had this same story. I have never turned on boost nor use their platforms to process cc payments. I have heard stories similar to yours. Sad these days are not easy to trust companies that should be helping us. I'm going to keep looking and researching companies to find a home for these reviews. LOL. I'm not a fan of the platform set up for my massage biz except for the option to allow pre existing clients only to use the app while I'm solo and booked out.

I had almost 100 5 start reviews on booksy. Still left. Booksy isn’t worth it. They use things like this to keep you hostage. They know what need to be done but won’t do it, because ultimately everyone would leave , if you could take everything with you. Booksy is like a vindictive baby mama. Don’t wanna see you winning elsewhere, and is going to make it hard af to leave.

Vagaro’s brings you more customers and does not charge for any new customer that you get. We only charge $25 a month which is less than Booksy. More than 220k professionals use Vagaro which is way more than Booksy.

Vagaro has not brought me any new clients. I’ve been paying for the get featured option, nothing. This is why I was thinking about going back to booksy. Boost actually worked for me, the percent step was a bit much tho.

I tried it once they took a lot and I haven’t used it since. But I still pay my monthly subscription and that’s all they are going to get from me but other than that booksy Is okay booking and keeping account of transactions. I also don’t use their transaction system. I use square to process payments

@@taharim74 you only have to pay them monthly but also pay a percentage of every client appointment if you use them to promote your business to get you new clients. Also pay a percentage of every card transaction if you use their pos system to process payment

When you input your own clients from your own marketing your supposed to claim that client after the service is done and provide proof that those are your clients, I had the same issue and I pressed that line ingot that money back

Yup!! Plus they tell you this on the site. Btw, Booksy Boost has always taken a percentage. I've been on there since 2019 and that has always been the case. They even tell you how it works before you activate it. Plus, you have to meet the qualifications to even be able to activate it.
