Oh gosh, I relate to every singe point! I was a loud, jolly, excitable, and confident child. But somehow, as I entered high school & college, I had to temper that joy or “too muchness” to appear cool or whatever. I spent years being inside my head and being nonchalant to project some sort of image that wasn’t me at all. I was scared to be vulnerable and be my weird self. Now that I’m in my late 20s though, I completely agree with you ! I love just being myself, whether that’s cool or not - i don’t care 😂 It’s so dumb to suppress our feelings & our true self. What a waste of a precious and beautiful life is that! I will freakout over a beautiful sunset any day, thank you very much! ❤❤❤

I think the things that might make someone “uncool” are probably the coolest things. That is something that is unique, and I think the coolest part about that is not changing yourself and your interests to what other people think. I think we should embrace our “uncool” sides because that’s what makes us all different and cool in our own ways! I hope this makes sense lol while I’m writing it out it is not making as much sense as in my head. Great video, btw!

Thank you for your perspective on what ‘being uncool’ means to you and for covering this topic. To me, ‘Being cool’ is a construct created by peers and subscribed to by others. And therefore, those who don’t subscribe to these parameters of ‘coolness’ feel out of place when they shouldn’t. Living life according to the standards imposed by the ‘cool’ makes for less diversity, uniqueness and creativity. I fully agree with you that we should be authentic to who we are and not be dictated by what others think or how they want to put us in prescribed boxes. Love this vlog and your thoughts! You are truly an inspiration.

yes i care too much- i'd always be the one texting first and reaching out to my friends. i know most don't have the capacity to do so, hence it's a conscious choice to take the high road. instead of grumbling and feeling like 'if they care they should be the one reaching out,' i take it upon myself to make it work. as long as they be excited and show up (physically and emotionally), that's good enough for me.
