Just a thought to ponder. Woodcraft is my passion. We had diamond wire saws that we use to cut down oil platforms underwater. I don't know of a woodcraft product out there that works this way but that means we need to create one. Bore a hole, then feed the cutting wire through and run the machine like a bandsaw to remove that center. Quit being wasteful 😂 Until we create that saw. Just plunge cut the center out so you can minimize your waste and recycle the waste as usual. On another note. Don't waste all that sawdust. Store it in a trashcan or something and use it for filleramd such. Then you won't need to buy wood flower. Also get yourself a chain hoist for large heavy projects. You will need it when you get older.

As an owner of some giant "manly" gas chainsaws, there is definitely a place for the battery or electric models!!! In a closed garage? Yup. Lightweight for walking around trimming? Yup. To have handy by the sawmill for cutting whatever? Yup. For teaching a newbie to sawing? Yup. For dropping a 4' diameter pin oak? Nope. Keep it up man. So hoping you bust up the internet sometime soon!!! I sure hope you get a ton of cash for that table. It so has a lot of special places out there!!!

350 cuts cross grain. You have a cross cut chain on the saw. All chainsaws come with cross cut chains. Get a “milling” chain to cut with the grain.
@HoundDogForge3 ай бұрын
Absolutely mesmerizing craftsmanship, Shane! Your attention to detail and skillful use of six different hardwoods resulted in a truly breathtaking table. The way you creatively combine the varying grains and hues is a testament to your talent. Watching your process unfold was both inspiring and incredibly satisfying. Thank you for sharing your artistry with the world! Also, have you thought about doing the sanding outside? Could help keep your shop a little cleaner.

And yes I’ve thought about sanding outside but just getting everything outside like tools and power, and even the table it self would just be a hassle. Plus it was 30-40 degrees outside.

Looks very good it's good to see someone making something unique I use to have a lathe and never liked to make things that looked alike defeats the purpose of making something different if you're going to make another made a12 foot by 3 oak table and had to use 3 ton excavator to move it when it was finished and all the wood was cut with a chainsaw from the forest to the finished product hand electric planer and belt sander and orbital sander to finish but the legs are rounds that I decorated with leaf shape and took me 6 days to sand it

I did something similar with a large log round taken from a maple tree in my neighbor’s yard. Took me 5 months to carve, flatten, sand, and fill cracks with epoxy. It’s a great table for our screened porch and will be passed down to one of our kids.

Nice Hydrow shirt, I love their rowing machine! I recommend using an Arbortech Turbo Plane to rough carve and then switch to those aggressive attachments. It'll make quick work of the carving and leave large shavings so the whole thing isn't turned into harmful dust for breathing.
