Cool falconry! Mad props for taking the dive to become invested in the sport, it's a big commitment. I've also had the privilege of meeting with a master falconer and seeing some gorgeous birds up close, they are such a marvel. Congratulations on catching your red tail!

Falconry is such a beautiful sport. It’s really a unique relationship that ends up helping the species. This is really the best side of hunting. I read a book that said male hawks tend to be more anxious and flighty, but your bird looked very tame from the beginning.

You know, seeing this is kind of inspiring. I’ve been debating on volunteering at the local bird sanctuary (we have two, one which focuses on smaller birds, one that works with birds of prey) and I think I’m going to look into volunteering so I can learn more about these animals!

I will become a Falconer one day! Its just tough for me...well the money's not there! You explained everything perfectly here, and as a last thing to note is that if your hawk decided that it wanted to fly away and not come back to you, the jesses would simply deteriorate from the elements! Your reasons for getting into Falconry are the same as mine, imagine that!
