I challenged myself to tag 200 windows on my N scale Skyscraper. Is Oceanwide Plaza Graffiti Tower Vandalism? Today as I put graffiti on my scale model of the Oceanwide plaza graffiti tower, we take a look at both sides of the argument. Is graffiti art or vandalism? Is there a time or place where graffiti is accepted? And is the graffiti at Oceanwide plaza a welcoming improvement to the Los Angeles skyline, or an eye sore? Oceanwide Plaza is an abandoned construction project downtown Los Angeles that has been completely covered in graffiti from top to bottom. As a model railroader who specializes in model train graffiti and weathering, this is a project I must have on my N Scale model train layout. Follow along as I take on this massive Graffiti project in miniature scale. Graffiti gives a voice to those who aren’t heard. Graffiti is about freedom and rebellion just as much as it is about artistic expression. Rebellion has shaped our world from the beginning. Sometimes for better and sometimes worse.. but one thing is for sure it’s not going anywhere. It can never be stopped.

There is a high level of art to it for sure. Too bad some use it with messages of hate or gang violence. It ruins it for the rest of us who just respect the art behind it. Keep up the great work Tim!

Artistic graffiti is colorful, while gang graffiti is always monochromatic (one color).

I think you did a great job explaining the graffiti and the controversy surrounding it. I have seen some great, some wrong and some that are gang tags. What is good/bad about graffiti zones is the government is involved. I believe the truly artful guys could have respect enough to ask the owner, they maybe surprised at the answer. Looking good.

I think there is a line between tagging and graffiti, and there is a certain ethos where to paint. As someone who's been to the towers it really is a sight seeing it for the first time. I wonder how much you would get for this model if you put it up on eBay.

Graffiti is absolutely an illegal activity. There's a lot of artistic thought behind it, even if it doesn't seem like it, but the act of graffiti is illegal. 100% ...but it sure can brighten up a plain, boring building! Love these vids!
