Hi all! I’ve been a bit busy lately and am behind on comments, but I’ll have the time to catch up tonight. It was also really fun to do a request video! I think KZfaqrs tend to get more requests than we can realistically film, yet some are such great ideas. As such, I have a request to YOU: drop me your ideas on how to manage requests? Hope you all have a most wonderful week! 🥰
@Orangejuicess
@Orangejuicess 3 ай бұрын
How about mixing requests in your videos say 3 in 1. Also the polls are great for knowing what the most popular topics are. And you can ask people to comment under the polls so you can have everything in one place as opposed to having to come back to your videos. Love you Alice ❤

How about request bingo then in the end of the video say these are the ones I am thinking about comment on which one. This gets comments which helps with KZfaq gods and recommending to others, more interaction better for you. I try to comment on my favorites content creators for this reason. 🫶

Do you check comments on a computer or phone? If you mostly use your phone, I would just use something like Google Keep to quickly add any requests you like to a running list. You can have separate lists for video ideas, brand requests and product requests. You can access Keep on desktop, too, so you could do the same there or check the lists.

Changing your mind is a sign of intelligence - taking in new information and using that to adjust your beliefs is clearly harder than it sounds! My favorite is Yzma, but I will say i really appreciate the recent changes in villains to people who are trying to do what's best for their family and failing. Encanto and Turning Red had me in all my emotions when the parents/grandparents learn how much they've hurt the people they love most. As a parent to a tween, I can definitely relate to really thinking I'm doing the right things but learning I'm actually f*cking things up! My guess for you is Ursula. I see you as a fan of her camp style, fabulous eyeshadow and general drag sensibilities.

You're the reason I bought one to try - herbloom Green Clear oil cleanser on Amazon and omg, why did I use gel foaming cleansers all this time??? It's perfection. Now I ordered two different oil cleansers on Stylevana and super excited to try them, especially haruharu.

Now my brain associates ma:nyo to an ick :P I'm really excited for my first Stylevana delivery. I have a feeling haruharu will be my go to brand. Packaging looks great, vegan and well reviewed. I can't find the same one online to confirm. Oh and btw, I just saw in Cassandra Bankson's short that there's a K-Beauty store chain in LA! I had no idea... It's in Korea Town, 15min from where I live and I'll check it out tomorrow. It has all the main Stylevana brands, I'm just expecting them to be more expensive. It's called Palace Beauty.

Hi Alice. I am initially afraid of the copper peptide in my skincare and avoid the vitamin C and benzoyl peroxide treatments as initiated by some conflicting information. However, since I saw some products that combine vitamin C derivative with copper peptide, I guess I only need to wait for a short period of time before applying acne care products. 😊 The terpineol serum and Lion Pair really helps my acne breakout since mostly due to hormonal changes that results in more acne forming at a certain time of the month, but I do need to include the Azelaic acid serum since I usually don't like the dry sensation after application...

While it may not be the same dosage - people who are taking NSAIDs already should make sure to consider that using a topical NSAID contributes to their overall max daily NSAID usage. Im a sunscreen obsessive and apply a lot, and there are times where I just reintroduce my face to the sun. No, I don't tan but If I'm by a window it's not a crime to not put sunscreen on. Bc then we're almost gonna create a sensitivity if we never go out in the sun with bare skin versus an immunity. That's not my saying go out in bare sunlight everyday and not apply sunscreen, but if ur indoors or if there's a window by u, it's not a crime to not apply. So everyone needs to relax. God put something in our skin to be semi immune to the sun bc back in the bc era, they were out in the sun all the time and didn't even have sunscreen. Btw happy Easter, but yeah, I'm just saying we need to relax.

Hello Alice! 😃 I wouldn't even know where to start with how I see skincare other than I do believe that it is a personal thing - personal choice - not all products work the same for everyone. I also know from my own experience, I used to be able to throw anything, literally anything on my skin, but recently (past year) - around underneath my eyes something has changed and I will immediately know if I am going to have some sort of reaction. I can say that I am so happy with K beauty skincare - because of the choices, the formulas, real defined sensitive skin lines, and the luxurious face creams, face masks and cleansing pads that I have tried. I still have many that I would love to try or experience, this is why I love your channel so much - other than I truly like your delivery and personality, I really do love seeing your reviews and recommendations. I wear sunscreen, I have friends that don't agree, but I will say that I believe if you are not using sunscreen, why bother doing skincare? (in my opinion you are just wasting your money). My favorite Disney villain, oh wait - is Cruella de Vil - just because of her hair, love her hair! 🖤🤍🖤

Yeah that’s absolutely my take. Doing all this skincare only to not use sunscreen feels like…putting on a beekeeper suit only to take it off before handling bees (I tried at an analogy there lol) Then again, I guess there also are a good amount of folks that don’t even moisturize. The thought makes me uncomfortable!

I have to say as a black woman growing up, I never grew up worrying about the sun. I was never preached to about wearing sun screen. I don't go to the beach or live in a hot climate. I don't go out alot. So this obsession with the sun was really confusing to me. Whenever I hear about skin cancer, not to sound prejudice, I have only seen white individuals with skin cancer. So I guess that's how I have always looked at skin cancer. I don't know if light skin people are worse off or not.
@lukastemberger
@lukastemberger 3 ай бұрын
We're definitely worse off. Melanin is a protective element of the skin. That's probably the reason black don't crack :) But that's not a reason to not use sun screen. You have a little bit smaller chances of mutated cells that turn into cancer, but chances are still there! It's also hard for guys to use sunscreen because most of them are oily, have white cast or leave a dewy finish or glass skin or whatever. I want my sunscreen matte and invisible and they're so hard to find! I did find one or two and I ordered several from Stylevana to try.
@MarieLehleitner
@MarieLehleitner 3 ай бұрын
You're right that skin cancer is WAY more common in white people (white people are 20x more likely to develop melanoma than black people, who are the least likely to develop skin cancer) because of the lack of melanin protection. Skin cancer is also the most common cancer in the U.S., but it's also generally one of the easier cancers to treat so usually has lower fatality rates. That said, everyone CAN get skin cancer, and it's unfortunately underdiagnosed or diagnosed later in people of color (often because doctors aren't adequately trained in how it presents on deeper skintones), so it is often more fatal for people of color. Imo I think the way people have talked about and used sunscreen has changed a lot in the past 30 years. It's only been viewed as a daily necessity pretty recently, and the formulation has improved a lot. Whereas when I grew up, we only wore sunscreen when we were going to the pool or going to be out all day in the sun (and this is despite being white with redheaded family members who burned pretty bad).
@TreelessPlain

I live in FL as well and the things I hear about sun exposure is just disappointing. There’s people who say they feel ugly without a tan, or others who swear they have to get burnt first to start their tan. Oh and the people who think the sun will cure all their skin problems so they won’t wear any SPF 😭

My sons and husband said when there is no sun, there is no need for sunscreen but when do we see the actual sun in a city full of high-rise buildings? They argued that daylight does not mean sunscreen is required. sunscreens below to the beach only. And then I bought a sunscreen camera to try to convince them but they have dark skin and it makes no difference on the camera when they apply or do not apply sunscreens. Argh! One thing does work on my husband though, sunscreens that I will discard if he doesn't use them. LOL! Rest assured, I always ensure I have a huge stash of sunscreens that are "not suitable" for many reasons/excuses because that's the only way to make him use them. I have yet to find a solution to make my boys use them.

Not related to this video, I am just confused about this new "ingredient". I'm seeing some products with bio-retinol (not bakuchiol or any type of vitamin A). Neither of these brands explain what this bio-retinol thing is or how it works. I find this very shady and misleading. Have you heard of something like that?
@AliceintheRabbitHole

Yes, all the time. There’s a lot of (word)-retinol products, and I also find it misleading (and harmful to the cause these brands MIGHT be going for??) If it’s a retinol alternative, then call it a retinol alternative. That way, pregnant folks and those who are sensitive will know what they are buying. This whole pro-retinol/bio-retinol thing attracts people who are looking for retinol- only to disappoint them! It’s very frustrating.
