Wow it’s definitely turned out to be a wow factor of a camp set up on your Jimny. I’m sure lots of people would definitely agree with me on this one those two little seats in the back of the Jimny are a waste of space. This has definitely given me a great idea for a touring vehicle. I can not wait to get my self a Jimny not long now to wait . Looking forward to seeing your next video Daz thanks for sharing this with us

@TheLittleRig

Well they came after to give us a run for our money. But honestly they’re so different. Mine is a rock crawler with the ability to load up the canopy and go camping/touring. It’s build for hard tracks with the bonus of the camping option. There’s is built as a mini landcruiser purely for touring. The canopy isn’t removeable so it’s not such an off-road vehicle as it is more a tourer. They’ve done a great job on it and I love that they’re both completely different builds.

Why did you not just get the Jimny Ute? I M guessing your gout to say cos you’d already build this one but any other reason for chopping it.
@TheLittleRig
@TheLittleRig 11 ай бұрын
I’m assuming you’re from nz. Second stage manufacturing of a Jimny ute is only available in NZ. But further to that, you can’t get a street legal version on 4” suspension with 33” tyres. The ONLY way to do that is to chop your own and engineer everything at once for the chop, big lift and big tyres 😊 But, to answer your question, I caved in the rear left corner and roof on a rock wall driving tracks one day, so it gave me the perfect excuse to proceed with the chop.

Thanks mate 🙏My favourite thing about the jimny is the wheel base. It’s also it’s biggest advantage on the tracks and the reason I’ve been able to do tracks that so many amazing big rigs I film with can’t. So it was my number one rule that I didn’t want to touch the wheel base. It’s just so much fun as it is. 😊

@TheLittleRig
@TheLittleRig Жыл бұрын
Several things….. my car had a damaged rear so was technically a write off if I didn’t do anything. As a ute it’s an incredible rock crawler, not even comparable to any regular jimny. There’s sooooo much more useable space then the rear cargo area of a stock jimny, I can fit so much more than I could before. Also, you can’t ‘legally’ run a RTT on a stock jimny, with this I can. There was a lot of things that lead to this so for me it was the perfect solution 😊

@@TheLittleRig yes a very smart investment of $135k, I know when you reached $20k as you posted it back in the day when you had roof racks etc. It was that post I realised you had more money than sense and was never going to stop. You’d be better of buying a motor home and towing the jb74 behind it for when you want to do what it does best.

@@user-yl2ff6wz5x investment? I’m not investing in anything other than a good time rockcrawling and camping. Imagine doing something that WE want to do rather than what you want me to do!!?? Motorhome…. I can’t think of anything more boring and common. Obviously everyone has different preferences in life and most people understand that. What you also need to understand is that by creating something no one else has yet this car has over a qtr of a million people following it and more than pays for itself and our journeys. That’s the beautiful thing about social media. And comments like this of course 🙌🏼😊
