Wao sisi I am in the same situation, I have six siblings and I am the youngest one I bought my dad a tombstone and some of my siblings were not happy about that Last year I bought my aunt(uAnti) a tombstones now everybody hates me for that...I am the only one in the family who is not rich but thought about my ancestors I don't regret what I did due to the fact that I know my ancestors are happy wherever they are. I am inspired, this video just popped here on KZfaq and I decided to watch it.I am from Botswana living in the UK ..Been here for 2 yrs.I have been saving money and ready to start building back home in my grandparents.My plan is to do this for all of us as family to change the situation back home..I have been having conflict in my mind if I should do it or not , thinking about how such things always turn to inviting hate and jealous ..Or being told you think you better than everyone.But some of us are doing it to honor our ancestors dreams, not for praise.We doing it deeply from our hearts to change our families life and break generational poverty …May God guide me ..

Your story it's so painful knowing that you are trying to do the right thing for your family but there are those who will hate for nothing. Hi Velile I have also encountered same thing I've got a property in the city and rural area people broke into my house and stole everything and even climb the roof to steal the solar panel stole generator and left my house empty but I'm not going to give up

Ooh how I share the same sentiment. I’m actually going through the same process now. I just started building in the beginning of April. I am rebuilding my grandparents house in the township. It is so challenging especially when the elders don’t support you but I know there is no turning now and my intention for building are the same as yours, pure.

It’s just pure envy and jealousy nothing else and I know your hurt I have been through something similar but I had to guard my heart and my dreams and leave them even cut them out of my life. If they don’t see the impact you are making and if they don’t have the vision just leave them alone and pursue your dreams , achieve and continue to impact the lives of those people who will allow you to with genuine love and support. Family is blood that’s all they are but real family in our case is other people who recognise our worth and support us no matter what.

Velile, you are raising so much VIP matters. BUT I beg to disagree with you. A Family House is a Family House. Whether you are monied and they-your other Siblings are NOT. You don't clarify if and whether you have other Siblings besides your Brother? And if they were involved in your plans to renovate-extend your parents home. Or if your parents left a Will. ESTATE is a big issue. You can't be a married woman with children. Build and say new Asset is your Family's as a whole. Your Siblings have a Right of Ownership. Your children have a Right of Ownership. So is your husband too, who has a Right of Ownership to same Asset. WHAT IF THERE'S A FALLOUT & YOUR SIBLINGS TAKE LEGAL ACTION? YOU'L BE FORCED TO SELL HOUSE AND SHARE PROCEEDS OF SALE. WHAT IF YOU DIVORCE (GOD FORBID)-AND YOUR HUSBAND CLAIMS PART OWNERSHIP? You can't just take this matter lightly. Your children also have a Right to claim same house years in FUTURE, after you pass on. WHAT ABOUT CHILDREN OF YOUR SIBLINGS? REMEMBER THIS MATTER IS NOT ABOUT A HOUSE, BUT THE LAND THE HOUSE IS BUILT ON. LAND is a BIG emotional issue to us Blacks. Congratulations nonetheless 🎉
