Ugh. He's one of the finest actors who ever lived, and all I can think about is how gorgeous he is -- even dressed as a priest!

Montgomery Clift is my favorite actor, period. Of course others also have immense talent and charm, but Clift had a subtle, poetic power to him that was mesmerizing . He brought so much complexity and depth to his characters, so many nuances. I despise the disease of addiction. What an absolutely stunning career Monty could have had without being lost to addiction ....as it is, his filmography is stunning but too painfully small. Props to Karl Malden too, who was also a personal friend of Monty's.

The subtext of the characters between these two exceptionally talented actors really does catapult this scene to another level.

Great movie. Watched it a few times.

William haines was another fine looking early actors who was gay. He didnt hide the fact which angered the big hollywood bigwigs. They wanted him to have a show maarriage fr the tabloids but he refused! He told hollywood to hop it and went on to big quite successful on his own. Good fr him. Another gay actor was ramon navarro. Unfortunately although very successful he didnt do so well. Although he lived to an old age he was murdered. Why no one knows. So sad fr these actors.
