My childhood hero & England LEGEND David Seaman joined Tom and I down at Mill St for a stonker of a podcast, which included David talking about how he almost joined Manchester United, his thought process when conceding the famous World Cup Ronaldinho goal and we broke down one of the greatest saves EVER! My favorite England Keeper that Penatly save in Euro 96 against Scotland what a memory i was in a bar in Blackpool at the tme and the place exploded when David saved it the bulding was shaking on its foundations what a top class keeper and top class Bloke good luck in life David and Thank you.

Wrexham fan here with massive respect for DS, especially after that famous FA cup night in '92, Mickey Thomas asked for DS's gloves before the game, and even after defeat David was waiting patiently outside the Wrexham dressing room with his gloves while all the celebrations were going on, what a guy.

My absolute all time hero and someone I admired massively when I was growing up, his super calm style between the sticks was proof you don't have to scream and shout to be a top top keeper...what a guy!

I'm a Spurs fan and grew up being a goalkeeper. Loved watching him play...albeit more for England than Arsenal. One of the greats.

When I was a kid I was walking home with my pal in our arsenal goalkeeper tops, big dave beeped us and waved it was a great moment, we chased his car down the Rd as it disappeared into the distance, met him the next day at Highbury and shook his hand, he is a top man as well a goalkeeping, legend

Same here, my 1st and old football idol when I was growing up. As the 1st choice keeper for my school (early to mid 90s) I loved that my teammates nicknamed me "Seaman", it always me go into matches feeling like I could stop anyone. As a fellow Rotherham lad (Kimberworth Park), I couldn't have been more proud.

As a united fan and goalkeeper as a kid in the late 90's I automatically hated seaman because Schmeichel was my hero, great to see him on the fozzcast and see what a nice bloke he is and remember without the bias of a child just how good he was

So interesting listening to the goal keepers about reading the striker if it’s too perfect. Weekend just gone smith-Rowe goal against Brentford I thought keeper should’ve saved it but he took it so early that it makes sense Raya couldn’t read it or get set as he took it so early

What a legend ! We want more GKs ! Amazing insight on the GK business ! That Shmeichel catch was common in Italy in the 70s, I was doing as a kid as I was trying to copy my GK uncle ! You are right, GKs are the same in a way, lot more mature than the others, conscious of their job and it’s importance. Up the Fozcast

Don't think it was mentioned (or I missed it somehow) while speaking of goalkeeping styles and getting to Schmeichel. But his style and all the spreading was definitely influenced by the fact he played handball until he joined United. Once you watch a couple of handball games and then watch him, it becomes very visible to the eye.

My son is a keeper & Arsenal fan and I made him watch this. The knowledge he gained from just one comment about not forcing yourself into doing something you don't need to has certainly stuck with him. It's the littlest comments that you may feel don't mean much but they go a long way when children listen to pros/expros talk, experience is what makes them listen. Keep up the great work Fozzy

I loved this so much, Dave is my all time idol like you and I've always thought you are well under valued. I've been a goalie since I was 10, was at Coventry trained by Ogrizovich, nearly got in at Watford and had trials for Leicester. Great podcast

Euro 96 was the first tournament I remember watching, the players in that team especially David Seaman who looked like an absolute giant between the posts in that yellow/red kit are like mythological figures to me. Still can't believe that's actually him sitting there talking to you.

It's interesting to hear David and Ben talk about style of goalkeeping because being French and watching keepers like Barthez, Lama, Coupet their styles and goalkeeping ways are so different to what was discussed on here. I wonder if the goalkeeping style differences are still apparent between keepers growing up in different leagues or as the position come to be more uniformed in its style.

I think it’s clear as the foreign influence of the premier leauge has changed over the past 20 years all styles of play have become far more similiar across Europe but there’s still no doubt it makes a massive difference. There’s a reason the 2 best prem teams have Brazilians in goal

Fozcast….. David Seaman a truly great goalkeeper. I was a keeper and both he and Schmeichel were the two I looked up-to. As great as his save against Sheffield United was, I think the Peter Schmeichel save against Rapid Vienna may be the greatest save of all time.

Wow what a fozcast and David seaman is such a legend and so chilled out. Got to say it came across loud and clear Ben has retirement on his mind. It was mentioned several times and it was like he was asking David if he should pack it in. I hope he doesn’t as I love the match day vlogs but I understand if it’s his time and hope he enjoys his retirement.

Alas for Seaman despite all the great saves he made over his career he’ll still be remembered for the howler against Brazil at the 2002 world cup. It was a great free kick from Ronaldinho but Seaman’s positioning should have been better.

Really late to the “Fozcast”. So I’m playing catch up on the episodes… Absolute quality to hear David Seaman talk. But how cool is Foz as a host?! It’s great to see a podcast that gives the goalkeepers their say. GK’s are a lunatic breed 😂 I’d love to see Lehman on. Weren’t a fan of his. But he was a lunatic! I bet he got some stories.
