I was practicing this as I was watching and found his evaluation and instruction very impactful and intuitive. The side bend has been elusive and this was very intuitive. That drill where he makes you hold the club vertically on the follow through was eye opening. It definitely makes the hip rotation and weight transfer less complicated. Still challenging but wow.

This advice is great for Jerome, but many people already do the overextension leading to reverse pivot. So make sure you don't already do too much of this tipping forward move.

Realistically no one should be trying to blindly copy what the coach is telling Jerome (or any kind of generic golf instruction lol) bc everyone has different issues and capabilities It's still really cool to see these elite coaches' processes and tools though. If anything it should encourage+enable people to go find a good coach

I've come to the same swing thoughts/conclusions very recently. Should be twisting bottom part of body while side bending the upper body. Just from shots that felt the best and then confirming with tiger's slow mo swing. I do have to remember to extend my right (trail) arm. If I don't the shots can leak right. When remembering to extend it the ball goes dead straight. It's amazing. And once you get it down, it's a pretty simple (albeit hard) movement to do. Keep on grinding!

Reverse spine tilt you’re actually angled towards the target. In this video he is still correctly over the ball just more upright. Are you sure your in to out with a closed face? I know my miss is a pull hook thought the same thing. It was actually and over the top move with a closed face due to flying right elbow

Moe Norman always said “Side bend before handle” just look it up! Side bend is handle control, you received a lot of info in that lesson. In my humble opinion practice on one part of your lesson per range session “ side bend, thoracic extension, club thrown out in front etc…Your definitely close just leave the handle alone!

Dana is great 👍🏻 … explains cause & effect incredibly well He mentioned one thing and said “not worrying about this yet”, but this is my big miss: My head occasionally moves forward (toward the target). I heard you say you, too, worry about getting your head ahead of the ball too. Anxious for a fix on how to correct that ☝🏻 “Tour players don’t worry about ‘push blocks’” … I do 😏 I knew when he said “it’s all about the reps” that you wouldn’t worry about that. Given your basketball background … I’m passionate about golf, and know many others that are as well, but never met anyone as passionate about this journey as YOU 😳 Look at that huge bucket of balls 👀 Look at that huge BIN of balls! 😳 #Grinding Keep up the good work 👊🏻

Just goes to show.. different coach for different folks. I personally can tell this guy is INCREDIBLY knowledgeable and I’m not trying to discredit anything he’s saying… but I personally cannot stand how technical this guy is and all the acronyms. I knew what “COG’s” were before he explained it to Jerome… but as a student, that’s just one more thing for my brain to digest and think about while he’s explaining golf geometry to me. I prefer coaches like Derek Uyeda (putting)… keeps it simple, casual, etc.

Please put down an alignment stick at every practice. You/We don't know what direction you should be hitting from the tv angle and if the ball flight is a draw/fade/push or pull. Ask your coach to verify because you'll need to manipulate the club face or it will continue to go right based on last videos/practice vids. If its pre-close, less manipulation. If regular address face square will need some manipulation of the hands or the distance closer to ball because side bend makes you shorter/further from ball slightly because trail arm is pulled in.

Hit the ball good during instruction. You kill yourself when playing. You have no preshot, you rush every shot you take. You do not read and line up putts. You will never be a scratch golfer with those bad habits no matter how many golf lessons you take. Take playing a round as serious as you do while getting instructions. That alone would take 7 or more strokez off of your game right now. If you are just having fun with it and you really don't care about being a scratch player then ignore everything said and have fun with it.

Jerome, go bowling, then go to a batting cage, think about those in the context of the golf swing. Don’t get too caught up in the mechanics. You already have a fundamental understanding of what you’re trying to do, now you just have to make it work for YOUR body!😅
