You can do alphabet chess and put a lot of mechanics like using this type, a king needs to be checkmated to be able to win and the v that if you join two v's in the same column or row you Remove the two v's and place a w in any empty space on your side of the board. When w is captured, you can place it 2 v's in any square on your side of the board. The pieces move like the letter looks like, for example: the letter a moves like the shape of the letter a and the letter a can be like a Pawn, it becomes any piece except the a or z itself when it reaches the end of the Chessboard.

You could add a piece called the hunter. It would have a gun. It could move as a king. It could shoot to the squares surrounding the squares it could move to. Also you could add a guardian angel ability that lets you block your piece from getting taken for one time.

Chess 5.0 Idea: Add a shop where you can buy pieces. You start with 25 dollars. Pawn - 10 Horsey and bishop- 25 Rook - 50 Royal family member - 100 Promotion loses 5 dollars, while taking wins 10 dollars.

Take your own pieces is useful because sometimes you want to move a piece to a square but there is another piece that will block you and if moved will block the capture range

My opinion: Bodyguard: Pros: Can move back. Cons: Can’t capture diagonally anymore, no double-step, no en passant. Actual-Knight: Pros: Accurate ig Cons: Weak, no cool L move. Unicorn: Pros: Pretty powerful, many movement options. Cons: Works better on a larger board, Grant Acedrex did it first. Prince: Pros: Can move 2 squares. Cons: Everything else. King: Pros: Gets Knight move, you aren’t as reliant on it. Cons: Short range. Princess: Pros: Still kinda powerful. Cons: Nerfed Queen. Queen: Pros: Strongest royal piece, can jump. Cons: Weaker than OG Queen. Grasshopper: Pros: Can move twice in 1 turn. Cons: Weak movement, no capture benefits from double turn, colorbound. Kiok: Pros: Shogi promotes rook into this, “instant death” radius of 1 square. Cons: Shogi ver. had a way better name (Dragon King), death radius not as effective against upgraded royals. Dragon: Pros: Knight but cooler, can capture w/o moving. Cons: Open to attacks it can’t counter. Neutral piece: Pros: Nothing. Cons: Chronic backstabbing disorder, only use is as a meatshield. Fire Demon: Pros: Burn mechanic, objectively strongest piece. Cons: Tenjiku Shogi ver. makes this one look pathetic.

Spell shop : you can buy some spells which are powerful. Some examples of spells are : the spill and the loss

New system idea : Signals Now to command a piece to move, you have to send a legit signal to that piece. Kings(or whatever version of it) are the pieces that commands, and it can send signal to adjacent pieces Other pieces can transfer the signal to adjacent pieces, but pawns cant transfer signals backwards New piece : Messenger The Messenger moves to any square in the 5×5 box surrounding him and it cant capture anything but pawns or their variant pieces. It cant be captured if there are defenders more than or the same number with attackers of the messenger. The Messenger is special because it can signals to pieces that are in his movement 5×5 box, or can signal to other messengers within the 7×7 box surrounding himself. The Messenger is classified as a non-warrior piece New Mechanic : Breeding If there are 2 pawns next to each other, you can breed them and make a new pawn. When you start breeding, the 2 pawns turn into a new, 2×1 sized piece, house. The house cant move or capture. The house has 3 HP, and if you try to capture it when it has 2 or more HP, it just deducts 1 HP and your attacking piece goes back to its original square, and your turn ends. Houses may be healed up to 1 HP per move by workers. If the house survives for 5 moves, it turns back into 2 pawns, and an additional pawn spawns and you can place it in any square adjacent to either of its parent pawns, except for the squares more forward than the parents. New mechanic : schooling You can spend a move building a school adjacent to the king, and another move to place a bell to the school. However, if you have the worker, which is a non-warrior piece, building a school or placing a bell doesnt spend a move, and you can build the school adjacent to the worker, instead of the king. Schools without bell have 2 HP, and with bell have 5 HP. Schools may be healed up to 3 HP per move by the worker. If your pawn enters your school, or if you make one of your pawns move to school by ringing the school bell(it spends a move), that pawn starts learning. If a pawn learns for 3 turns, it can be whatever non-warrior piece you want. New piece : worker You start the game with 2 workers. Worker is a non-warrior piece. It can move like a king infinity times at a move, but signals must reach to him before every king-like move. It cant capture anything. If you capture a worker, you can place your own new worker wherever your signals reach on the board. If you have a valid worker(Workers that signals could be sent to), Your building constructions spend no moves at all or less moves than usual. Some buildings cant be built at all without workers. Workers also have the special ability to heal an adjacent building, and the anount of HP a building can be healed by workers differ.

Chess 6.0 suggestions -Replace kiok with cannon Cannon: can move like the normal rook but in a 5 square limit. It can fire the cannonball diagonnaly and it has a limit too (3 square) -Make the board bigger (15x15) (if it is too big you can make it enough to fit in at last 3 ranks) -Add a new piece called "Spy" Spy: It starts in the middle, it is like the neautralpiece but it dosen't support any team we need a new card for the spy to move anywhere, when it is captured it supports the team that captures the spy. It's move is like the original king but it cannot move diagonally. So it is not very weak or overpowered or we can have this extra card called "Move Spy" this card lets you move the spy for 1 move. Or if you pick the car "Forever Move Spy" you can move the spy Forever! So the "Forever Move Spy" is overpowered! -Add a new piece called "Spyguard" Spyguard: When the game starts we have 8 pieces of these covering the Spy, it is like a bodyguard but it doesn't move, it moves only in emergencies. It moves like the king in Chess 1.0 when you get into where the spyguard can move, then the spyguard captures your piece. The cards "Move Spy" and "Forever Move Spy" deletes the spyguards until the spy is captured by the team who doesn't own the spy. When the team that doesn't own the spy captures the spy, the spyguards are added to support the team that owned the spy. -Replace bishop (Grasshopper) with Royal Protector. Royal Protector: It is in the royal family. There are two of them like in chess 1.0. It can move diagonally but with a limit of 2 squares. And it can move 1 square to the front, 3 squares to the back. Also the spy and the spyguard will not be added when the card feature is not played.

@chesstraps I have an idea! Maybe you can add gum. Gum moves like a rook. When an opponent piece is next to the gum (horizontally, vertically, and diagonally) that piece cannot move for the next 3 rounds. Do you like my idea?

chess 5.0 suggestions you made the prince too weak remember princes fight dragons while princess hold a popcorn and watch him fight and also make a piece called decoy the decoy moves like a king and can swap places with any other piece on its colour this another one is called agent X this piece moves like a bishop but after moving it turns into a rook and vice versa and a piece which is called agent L this piece comes in game when agent X does its first capture it moves likes knight but after moving it turns into a queen and vice versa make a feature called chips and spells there are 2 chips a black one and a red one if both players give red ones nobody plays a spell if one is black and other is red the player who plays red wins if both players give black ones both get it the players give chips on every move the spell is they need to freeze one of their pieces for one move the might even lose because of it so thanks
