NOTIFICATION SQUAD: I still can't believe I was able to do this?! A huge thank you to everyone who cheered us on during the cycle! Despite the pain we went through, I think myself, Connor and the team agreed (aka. Van gang) that it was one of the most amazing journeys we've had this year and to be a part of an event that raised over $300,000 for charity made it all completely worthwhile. I really hope we can do something similar next year! You can find the details for the Immune Deficiency Foundation here and a final thank you to everyone who donated! primaryimmune.org/

"Connor's wife and fellow Twitch streamer IronMouse." This made me laugh way too hard. And I bet Mousey will lose it over that remark as well. This was an awesome video with some amazing footage (damn good drone shots) and commentary, telling the whole story yet very well complementing Connor's streams. What an achievement. Not only physically by you two, but also the whole planning, filming, preperation, taking care of supplies at the stops, etc. Shoutout to Ian and Paul for this, they did an awesome job and really felt like a competent 'pit crew', as it were. Also Pete for the moral support, positive peptalks and overall Golden Retriever vibes. And let's not forget Mouse's and Pete's livestreams as well, putting even more eyes on this amazing achievement for a good cause, thus raising over 12½ times the original goal. The viewers who donated are to be praised for their combined efforts raising way over 300K for the IDF. The entire community involved is to be lauded, and I'm honored to be part of it. Overall, I would say: A stunning succes in many ways.

As a person who used to do 50 km (actually 32 miles for me) every other day, I have to raise my cap to you gents. Doing this without intensive prep makes it INCREDIBLY admirable. Seeing the section with you guys riding on dirt roads on road bikes made my balls hurt in empathy, because that is MISERABLE. Also, amazing job on the editing and scoring as always Chris. Finally, Pete was SUCH a great addition to the crew for this trip, he cracked me the eff up (also, I didn't know the he and I are the same age!).
@nicbrownable
@nicbrownable Жыл бұрын
Oddly, with cycling, no prep is often as good as a lot of conditioning. Most moderately able people can cycle 100km in a day. But not many people can sit in a bike saddle for a whole day. If you are really fit, you ride faster and your time in the saddle is diminished. If you are moderately fit it is really about how tough your butt is. Half hearted training can leave you going into the ride saddle sore without actually increasing your ability to ride fast. If you are doing some sort of binge ride like this, general cardio/fitness using the exercise you are most used to is better prep than road miles.

I love this video. For the past year I've been stuck in the house, rarely able to leave due to taking care of someone home with hospice. To say it's been a rough year would be an understatement, but it's videos like this, dreaming of a day I'll be able to do something similar again that helps keep me going.

This is not just a video, this is a most powerful inspiration and motivation I've seen in a long while. And to top it off you contributed a great deal in this world to charity with it. I love cycling and am visiting Japan next year and am thinking of cycling across the country myself, seeing how incredibly beautiful it is. And at the same time doing something really meaningful in my life in contrast of constant work that I've been grinding to succeed in the past 5 years. A chapter of life to remember for sure. Thank you Chris and Connor!

I couldn't stop smiling watching this brilliant recap of what went down during those 8 days. It was truly a memorable experience watching this happen live from start to end, interacting with other fans in chat, going on Pete's POV stream (PremierTwo) simultaneously to hang out with the Van Gang, cheering on Chris and Connor during the trickiest moments on the journey and more than anything - being able to be part of the amazing fundraiser for the IDF. Thank you so much guys for this! 😊

The two bits from the stream that seem to be missing in this (gorgeous, exquisitely edited) video recap are all the TTS Tomfoolery from the viewers and other Twitch personalities, and the INHUMAN amount of McDonalds Connor consumed at the end there. I was watching that stream and the amount this man put inside of him made ME feel sick. But it was a hell of a ride.

It was a grueling week for cyclists, van people and viewers... and yet, the first day without hearing Connor complaining about something (wind, rain, cold, hills, Chris) was surprisingly sad. I think everyone was involved in something great. Glad to at last hear Chris's version of the ride. For so long, he was 'the guy in front' so we heard so few of his thoughts. I almost did not recognise the island of uneven-weed-filled cycle lanes and pachinko parlours; that one person who tracked you all down to bring snacks, was so kind! Pete touching some grass, checking Connor was not asleep in the toilet, the wedding chapel pizza and pasta... so many memories that you guys shared with us. Kudos to everyone. ❤

Was lucky to see the majority of this live. Massive respect to these two Brits conquering hills, rains, lorries and TTS. The Van gang turned from immaculate support crew to legendary with the addition of everyone's favorite Golden Retriever. Besides ginormous support of chat and their wallets, Mel and others made this further heartwarming PS: how did you condense THIS to 40min? Mind-boggling

I think it's a clever approach to focus this video more around the story, scenery, and overall challenge and not show to much of the cyling itself. Leaving room for Connor's VODS to fill the gaps for those who want more.

100% respect, lads. As someone born with a primary immunodeficiency, raising money for a really, really worthwhile cause. And not just because it Kay at some point be beneficial to me. Walking into hospitals for immune replacement therapy, and seeing little kids hooked up to drips, fighting constant infections (I can have a pneumonia and not even know it, let alone cough), it's for those tiny sick kids that you're busting your arses on bikes. Bloody good work! 11/10!!

As much as I love the original, this cycle has been much more refined. Ditched the crazy challenges (it's already challenge enough), you got Connor taking care of the daily video stuff with streaming on twitch, the addition of Pete as the motivation / demotivation, and it's all for a good cause. Honestly this was great.

I'm around 6 minutes into the video and I'm wondering did the GoPro cause any trouble for you in your trip? I've had issues for Go Pro overheating and switching off when I don't want it to.
