Instead, he deals with restraining order which is far worst then prison. So far, it shows him getting kicked out of the house and not being allowed to see his mother which meant that is a restraining order used against him.

@@hp2546 Yeah! Sometimes restraining order is not a great protection for the victims! They can break it and do worse! So getting them away without coming back is to arrest him! But in another way being arrested is also not a good protection! Once they'll get out and look for you! It's starting all over! Nothing in this world can protect us! So all we have to do is watch out for ourselves and be on the safe side! If you notice something is not right get out of there! Protect yourself as much as possible! So her reason of restraining order might be that she is his mother and did not want to rush to get her son arrested yet. If by dealing with random strangers who is a threat to you, of course it is easy to tell the police to arrest that person. But because he is family, part of this reason for Marie to do a tough love parent is not to be too tough. We can assume that maybe she is showing some kind of mercy even at her state of being angry at her son. So of course instead of rushing the police to arrest him, that police is more like keeping him around just to torture him with a warning. It does go something like this. Go near your mother again and I will arrest you. I would assume that police officer might be baiting him or testing him to see if he dares go near his mother to break that restraining order. I mean it is common to teach people a lesson instead of rushing to get rid of them. Just like what if you make a mistake at work. Your boss have a power to fire you or keep you at work to teach you a lesson.

@@hp2546 Yeah! Sometimes it's true of what you mean here! But what about the son what does he have in mind towards his mother? We don't know what the son is going through and thinking of how he might deal with his own mom? Right now as it is he doesn't have feelings towards his mother! He is only thinking about his fix so he turns to his mother to buy for him! If she doesn't then what is the son thinking of her! He gets out of rage to take whatever is valuable what his mom has and take it without permission from his Mom's! Yeah! He is the family guy but he has a problem that he can't control! He wants what he wants so it's hard for the mother to deal with her son in this situation! He doesn't think of himself to get better in life but rather than being what he wants to be! People that drink and smoke like that never change! Even though if they get in trouble they go on and on! Their mind is set on it! He might be drinking because he forgets his worries, to get excited, to celebrate or he drinks to fit in, not necessarily because he would normally drink in the situation!
